Residence of the Tonks

"Dora, please make sure you clean your shoes!" Andromeda called up the stairs. "You've tracked mud onto the carpet."

"That was AlulaNova!" Tonks shouted down.

"You know it wasn't," Alula said, poking her head into her cousin's room.

Tonk's bedroom was a cluttered mess of what was yellow and black, presumably due to her Hufflepuff status, and now it was full of a range of themes and colours. Alula reckoned that she would see the same scene if she were to look into her cousin's head. Clothes, papers, books and other random things were thrown everywhere and Alula had no idea how Tonks knew where anything was.

Alula's bedroom, however, was what her aunt and uncle had as the spare room. Like most spare rooms of aged houses, the wallpaper was a simple two-tone floral design that was old enough to match the worn furniture inside the room. Her aunt had gone to the trouble to freshen up the bedsheets and cushions- the similarly-coloured fabrics stood out from the rest of the room with a new air about them. It wasn't long before Alula's clothes sat in drawers and her books filled the emptied shelves: Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Rosetti. Her uncle had taken her to a few muggle shops where she fell in love with the endless range of literature and odd things that muggles had, collected and made.

"She is going to hate it when you go back to Hogwarts," Tonks stated as she followed her cousin back to her room.

"I can write to her," Alula said, throwing herself onto her bed.

"Will you remember?" Tonks raised an eyebrow as she sat on the desk. "I don't see many owls from your friends arrive or many from you leave."

It was true. Alula had made much effort to write to Hermione or the Weasleys. She hadn't the guts to write to any of the Delacours because it would be the final part of accepting that her father had died. Her aunt and uncle had been kind in letting her have some space to breathe and she did end up exposing her feelings one evening when her cousin and godfather were present. It didn't take long for her to feel safe with the Tonks, Alula remembered when she first arrived.

Tonks and Lupin apparated with Alula and her trunks to the house of Edward 'Ted' and Andromeda Tonks. Alula had mixed emotions- it would be comforting to know more of her family and feel as though she belonged, but she did not know whether it would make her think more about her father.

"Dora!" A fair-haired, big-bellied man called as he came out of the house's front door and embraced Tonks. "Remus, good to see you."

"And you Mr-"
