Samantha

IT'S ALREADY LATE, ABOUT 10 o'clock at night, maybe for a Saturday night it's not that late, but when you're a girl the darkness of that time can make everything seem later. Most girls wouldn't be around here at this hour, but I would. I am not like most. Maybe one day I was, but in a year a lot has changed.

The night is cold today, but the cold doesn't bother me anymore. My heeled boots make my steps a little noisy, however graceful they are, I can hear them echoing in this dark and deserted alley. Maybe I should have chosen another shoe. I have to remember that next time.

The curious thing is that it is not only my steps that I hear, there are heavy steps without much rhythm coming towards me. The wind that whistles loudly, makes my overcoat fly and brings his smell to me, yes he. I could recognize the scent of a man miles away, soon will be behind me.

"It's a little late for a young woman to be walking alone in this darkness, don't you think?" He said laughing maliciously.

Timed. This voice. So, the pervert who has been attacking women in this area is him. I hope the bakery doesn't close after tonight. I could hear his footsteps coming closer and a giggle accompanying him.

"Ah Samantha, Samantha. You were always a good girl, right? But today you made the wrong choice to walk around here." He said laughing as if he was already successful and getting closer.

I stopped walking, adjusted my gloves and turned around. I saw that it was exactly who I deduced, Mr. David, owner of the bakery in the town of Micelar. A man in his early 50's, a bit paunchy and with annoying jokes that are disgusting.

He was a little surprised that I showed no fear, on the opposite, I was laughing maliciously with a hint of mockery. I calmly walked towards him, he tried to grab my arm, but it didn't get close to be able to move me. He tried with both hands and was unsuccessful again. I could see that his eyes widened and I could hear his heart rate increase.

I smiled and in a quick movement I grabbed his neck tightly, he groaned, but the words couldn't get out. I lifted it with one hand and hurled it at the alley wall. Another louder groan sounded, breaking the silence. He tried to stay upright, I approached him and knew that he would not be able to escape.

"Are you sure I made the wrong choice to walk around today?" I said as I walked towards him. "You were also wrong to think that I have been always a good girl."

"No, no! It's not possible! Please! No!" He shouted desperately.

In another quick movement I dug my teeth into his neck. A muffled scream echoed, but within seconds it was gone. All of him is gone. His heavy body fell to the floor. I could hear that in some streets away some stray cats meowed and some bird wings flapped.

I straightened up, pulled a handkerchief out of my overcoat pocket and wiped my lips. That was easy prey or maybe I was getting good at it.

I put the scarf away, looked at the body on the floor, which was now pale, cold and lifeless. I was no longer surprised to see them in that state, maybe before but now everything is different.

I became a blood drinker, by my deduction a vampire, even though it didn't make any sense that vampires existed. However, I never thought my life made sense.

I continued to walk through the alley, but this time towards the main street in the city center. I passed some trash cans and stray animals that hid with my presence.

The alley was starting to get brighter and when I looked ahead I could already see the main street with its orange lampposts and people passing by.
