Samantha
These questions from Leander and the pressure to want answers were already making me nervous. I spent the whole day in the room and I have no idea what he was doing, but I know that I can't stay here forever and I also know that I won't be able to run away from him anymore.
The problem is that he no longer accepts my apologies and now seems to want the truth, but does he suspect that I am a vampire? There would be no way for him to know. At most he must think that I am some kind of indestructible mutant or maybe he believes Micael's theory that I am an alien.
Should I tell him the truth? I never told anyone about it and I don't even know what reaction to expect. Okay, he said he likes me a lot even though I'm weird, but it's one thing to be weird and another to be a vampire. Maybe it's too much for him.
The fault is mine. I knew I shouldn't be too close to him, because at some point he would notice these strange things. Only he is annoyingly invasive and his optimism for life makes me let myself go. Now again, here I am, in trouble over a boy. I really need to get out of this life.
"Sammy? Everything is all right?" My mother said opening the bedroom door and making me stop walking in circles.
"Yes." I lied trying to look as natural as possible.
"So why are you walking around?" She asked laughing.
"I was rehearsing for a school work presentation." I lied again, but she seemed to believe it.
She walked over to my bed to sit and then reached out to me by her side.
"You and Leander ... - She said giving giggles as soon as I sat down and had to hold my smile. "I'm glad you are smiling again."
"Me?" I said surprised.
"You don't realize it, but you've been smiling a lot since you started dating him." She giggled again. "Your father is also happy, but he is still getting used to the idea, since he and Chris are very close friends."
I shrugged my shoulders.
"I always wanted you to be together, because I know he is a good boy. However, you always mistreated and scared him when he came here with his father." She said looking at me.
"I didn't mistreat him." I said turning to her and pretending to look innocent.
"Samantha, you tied the boy without clothes on the clothesline when you were 7 years old." She said shaking her head and I laughed.
"I had forgotten about it, but he had gotten wet with cat water and I was trying to dry it." I explained myself laughing.
"And all the times you locked it in the chest or in the bathroom or in the closet?" She continued.
"He talked too much, so I locked him up." I said still laughing.
"And the time you kicked him between the legs? He just needed to stay here for a few hours, Samantha. Just a few hours so the father could work and you made me have to do the boy's first aid." She said incredulously.
"Ah, but that was because he was joking that lemons were being born in me, so I also played, but it was to crack eggs." I laughed and she shook her head in disbelief at me.
"You are too brute. God forbid." She said shaking her head.
"I'm not brute. The boys who are very chicken." I kept laughing and she held a laugh still shaking her head.
"I just hope you're not mistreating the boy yet." She said raising an eyebrow.
"I mistreat him differently now." I laughed and winked. She smiled blushing a little and started to get up. "And what happened to Aunt Justine? You had to spend the weekend at Hoopson with her that time. It's all right?"
