baking together

❝ 𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐖𝐄 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐀 𝐂𝐀𝐊𝐄? ❞

"i'm bored." i said to colby. "yeah me too. is there anything here we can do?" he replied. "can we make a cake?" i asked. "yeah sure." we went to the kitchen and got out all the ingredients to make a cake. he took some flour and swiped it on my nose. i tried to get him back and it turned into a big, flour-y, mess. we turned on music and started dancing while whisking the batter. after it was finished getting mixed we poured it into a pan. we argued over who got to lick the spoon. i ended up giving him the spoon because i realized i could just take the bowl. "hey that's not fair!" "you said you wanted the spoon!" after we washed the dishes we ran around the counter and danced some more. one hour went by and we heard the oven beep. the cake was done so we pulled it out. colby tried going straight for a piece when i stopped him. "we have to let it sit!" "oh, right." since we were so energetic while the cake was baking, by the time it got done we were completely out of energy and super tired. 15 minutes felt like forever. finally the timer went off. i cut into the cake and handed him a slice and got one for myself then we ate it while watching tv. it was really good cake.
