today i'm gonna see my childhood best friend for the first time in like years. we always text and facetime but i've missed him so much. i landed in LA and called an uber. as soon as i got to his apartment complex i ran up the stairs and knocked on his door super loud. he opened it and was so shocked to see me. "HI!" i yelled and hugged him. "what are you doing in LA??" "surprise visit because i missed my best friend so much." "well i hate to break it to you but sam isn't here." i punched his arm. "shut up colby, you know i mean you. can i come in?" "oh yeah sure." i came into his apartment and it was really nice. "oh by the way i'm throwing a party tonight." he said. "nice. i will definitely be there." we caught up for a while then he had to get ready for his party. i left to my hotel to get ready as well. an hour passed by and it was time for his party. i took an uber back to his apartment and walked in. people were already there. i couldn't find colby but i spotted sam and kat so i walked over to them. "hey guys!" they were both surprised "oh my gosh what are you doing here?? and when did you get here??" kat asked. "surprise visit! and i got here a few hours ago! sorry i didn't call, i wanted to surprise my childhood best friend first! no offense, sam." "it's so good to see you!" he said. "i missed everyone so much." "we missed you!" "have you seen colby??" "last time i saw him he was with a girl and i think they went that way." kat pointed to her left. "thanks!" i walked and was searching everywhere until i accidentally walked in on them making out in the coat closet. "oh my god i'm so sorry!" i quickly shut the door and walked away. that was... something. i found sam and kat again and decided to talk to them about it. "um don't go into the coat closet because i accidentally walked in on colby making out with another girl." they both looked shocked. "are you okay??" sam asked. "yeah i'm fine. why wouldn't i be?" sam and kat both looked at each other. i was so confused. "well we both thought that you kinda had a thing for colby." sam said. "what? we're just friends." "the caption on the post on your spam for his birthday says different." "what's so bad about the caption? it's just words, sam." "you were going into detail about everything you loved about him. you literally said that you love how his eyes glisten and leave a little sparkle in the sun. you're definitely whipped." "don't be ridiculous sam i'm not- holy shit i'm in love." "yeah." "ok i'll be right back." i ran back to the coat closet and was gonna knock when colby walked out. "oh did you finish your thing-" colby stopped me before i could say anything else. "why are you back here?" "i need to talk to you." "what do you wanna say?" "i love you." "that's it? ok i love you too." "no colby, i'm in love with you." "what?" "yeah i guess i just realized. sorry for springing it on you. it's ok if you don't feel the same because you know the girl in the closet and-" he cut me off by kissing me. he pulled away and said "i feel the same and i was scared but i guess i realized after you accidentally you know. i love you." i smiled at him and was so relieved. best day ever.
