The party wasn't until Saturday and it was Wednesday so I had some time to adjust to the fact that I found my freaking soulmate.

My friends dropped Adalynn and I off and I could still heard their loud asses from down the street. I laughed to myself and finally entered my house with my best friend.

Being eighteen has got to our heads but at least we're happy for once. We got out of our old filthy town and came to LA for a fresh start. Nighttime was the best time for us. We stay out for so long that I sometimes forget sleep is a requirement for the human body.

My amazing parents take care of my bills after they got a lot of money from my dad's lawsuit against his job.

I still work and buy my own things but it is a blessing not to worry about bills so I'm not complaining. I'm not alone because my family said that I could move out here with my amazing best friend but I still feel like something is missing.

I pull off my shirt, then look in the mirror. Oh, that's right. my soulmate is the thing that is missing...

It is lonely not having someone to hold you and tell you that they love you but I don't want to seem like I'm being ungrateful. I may not be alone but I feel lonely, I won't say anything though. I'll just wait for him and live my life. Who knows? Maybe I'll see him again. Maybe I won't screw things up this time.

It should be pretty easy to see a guy with a soulmate mark on his hand. The mark that you leave on your soulmate has a special feeling attached to it. The mark literally holds your feelings in it.

Of course you would feel connected to something like that. You feel like you're being pulled to someone so It's easy to distinguish your soulmate from other people. The problem is finding your soulmate.

Adalynn barges into my room erasing my thoughts straight from my head.

"Jesus girl. You can at least knock!" I say as I throw my shirt at her.

"All this time in here and you didn't change yet? What were you even doi-" She spoke as I crossed my arms. I noticed her eyes lock onto my arm and I knew she saw my mark. I rolled my eyes as she stops talking and starts freaking out over it.

"I just found my soulmate, it's no big deal." I say, downplaying the whole thing.

"Girl, it is a big deal. I found mine too. How the hell do we find our soulmates at the same time?" She speaks while gesturing to the mark on her face.

"I guess LA boys are just better." I say laughing.

"Yeah definitely better than the boys back home."

"Oh. Most definitely, best friend." We laughed at my comment and put our pajamas on.

"Tell me the story of you and your soulmate. His mark is literally on your face. That's not very 'socially distant' of you." I say while wiggling my eyebrows and smirking at her.

"Shut up." She throws a pillow at me while I laugh.

"I'll tell you if you tell me about your soulmate encounter."

"You make it sound like I found big foot or something. My soulmate isn't something to 'encounter' Ady." I laugh while using my best friend's nickname.

"Oh my God, relax. Getting all defensive over someone you just met."

"I'm not defensive." I say while pouting.

"Okay, let me start my story."

I get comfortable after hearing Ady say this.

"So, when we split up I ran the opposite way from you of course. So, when I ran I was screaming for help and then-"

"Wait. You were screaming for help? Why didn't I just do that then? Things would've been very different if I didn't have a fear of authority. I could've just yelled for the cops to help me!"

"I was just getting to the good part, best friend."

"Okay, I'm sorry. Continue."

"So, then I ran and some guy pulled me by my shirt into the alley." She continued.

"Then?"

"Then, he put his hand onto my cheek and told me that he wasn't going to hurt me." She rested her hand on her cheek and smiled while recalling the memory.

"We talked for a long time after the men were gone. He told me his name is Kio and we just hit it off. That's when he told me about the party and he invited me so I invited you guys. Kio is such a gentleman and he's so sweet. I can't wait to see him again!"

"That's so cute. He sounds like a good guy. I'm glad you guys hit it off." I said with a sad expression.

"What's wrong?"

"I blew it with my soulmate, best. I'll never see him again." I started tearing up while Ady comforted me.

"At least you'll be happy best. I don't know if I'll see my soulmate again but I'm really happy for you. Kio sounds like a good man for you." I say while I put on my best smile.

"You really are the strongest person I ever met. You stay happy no matter what happens. You put on a smile and show it off to the world. I'm glad you don't let anything hurt you best. You deserve happiness and I believe you will find it. Just wait."

"I've been waiting for the longest time. He better be worth it!" Ady and I laugh genuinely as we decide to finally get some sleep.

Adalynn drifts off while I stare at my mark.

"Where are you?"...
