I was confused on what Josh was going to do but when he approached Nessa I realized what was going on. I walked closer to get a good view but I didn't realize I was going to catch the attention of someone else.
"Damn! That dress looks amazing on you." I turned to see a guy with black hair approach me.
"Hey darling, I'm Chase." He was loud while talking to me so it was obvious he was trying to piss someone off. That person being my very soulmate. Before Josh could start talking to Nessa he was already on his way back over to me.
"Dude, back the fuck off." Josh warned him.
"Hey, You're the one who's trying to hide this beautiful lady from everyone. You can't have them all Josh." He was obviously sober but he was making a drunkard's mistake.
"You're one to talk Chase, now get away from her." I was completely confused by their words but I kept quiet while Josh confronted him.
"You know, Nessa told me she isn't your soulmate so if I connect the dots, I mean, the marks. I would guess that she is." Chase looked into my eyes and then looked me up and down. My mark turned a dark red and I knew that was my cue to stop this.
"Um, I don't know what's going on but I don't think it's any of your business, Chase, is it? Yeah so we're going to leave-" I turn and point back to the pool area but Chase grabs my arm and pulls me towards him. His chest was against mine and my marks started to burn me.
"Ow-" before I can finish complaining Chase is pushed off of me by Josh's fist to his face.
"Jesus!" I yell as Chase gets up and tries to tackle Josh to the floor.
Josh turns the tables and pushes Chase back to the floor. Chase gets up and manages to get Josh to the floor. He punches Josh in the lip and then the cheek. Josh flips him off and starts punching Chase until multiple people pull them both apart.
I stood there dumbfounded. Josh was bleeding from his mouth and there was a cut on his cheek.
"What the hell dude?" This guy speaks to Josh.
"Shut up, Jadn." Josh says as he whips his lip.
I'm mad at him because I don't like fighting but that was hot not going to lie.
"Jo-" Before I can talk to Josh, his friends dragged him away.
They brought Josh to the bathroom and Nessa went running in with an ice pack. I went close to the bathroom to hear what they were talking about. I stood there and listened.
"Dude, you could have got seriously hurt, what the fuck?" The other guy speaks.
"Relax Noah." Nessa stated firmly.
"Babe, What's wrong? What was all of that back there with Chase?" Nessa spoke softly. Noah and Jadn took that as their cue to leave. I couldn't help but roll my eyes and mock her calling Josh babe. I know, childish, but that's my soulmate.
"That girl that was with me is my soulmate, Nessa." Josh says this as if he's defeated and I couldn't help but feel bad. This was all my fault, I shouldn't have come to this stupid party.
"Baby, I don't care about that. I just want you." I peaked into the bathroom to see Nessa approach Josh.
She slid her hands up his chest, neck, then rested them on his face. He looked down at his mark and When I looked at it too I realized it turned purple, jealousy. That was my own cue to haul ass before he chases after me.
I text Adalynn and told her that I was leaving. I hurried out the door and walked across the street to hide behind one of the cars while ordering an Uber. When my Uber finally decided to pull up I jumped in and didn't look back.
Adalynn texted me saying that some cute boy was asking around about me. I asked her what she said and this hoe gave him my number! He could have been a damn serial killer.
I get a call from an unknown number and I let it ring. He calls again and again until I loose my patience. I turn my phone off for a while.
I'm finally home and I see Josh on my front porch.
"What the hell? How the hell did you get here so fast? I left way before you."
"You know, purple actually kind of suits me better than blue."
"Shut up." I walk past him and go to my front door.
"Your friend gave me your address."
"Best friend actually, and of course she did. She's mean like that." I search for my keys avoiding eye contact with Josh.
"So, are you just going to sleep on my porch or go sleep with your girlfriend." He laughs at me.
"You know jealousy looks good on you."
"Don't be an asshole." I roll my eyes at him.
He grabs onto my arm and pulls me towards him, showing me those perfect blue eyes as he stares into my eyes.
"Can you stop doing that?" I slap his hands away.
"Doing what?"
"Giving me those eyes and expecting me to fall for you automatically."
"Don't worry, princess, you will fall for me. That's kind of the whole point of the mark."
"Wow so my soulmate is a jerk too."
"Y/N, I broke up with Nessa. You're my soulmate for a reason and I really want to find out why."
"I want to find out too because I don't know how the hell the Gods would think that you would match my level of awesomeness." We both laughed and then Josh kissed my cheek.
"Josh! Do you always kiss girls when you first meet them?" I say a little irritated and flushed at how he's so much more smooth and more outgoing than me.
"Nah, just you."
"Oh yeah? Not even Nessa?" I turned back to the door and continued looking for my keys.
"Ha! You're so funny." Josh says sarcastically.
"Yeah? Well jokes on you, you're stuck with me. Stupidass."
"Well, you're stuck with me too. Dumbass."
We both start dying of laughter until Josh abruptly stops. I look up to see his mark shining gold before settling down into a yellow color.
"What just happened?" Josh says while rubbing the mark I gave him.
"I don't know, the mark on me never shined before. It just turned different colors."
"But, you're happy right?" I smile towards him when he speaks.
"Yeah I am and so are you." I say looking down to my mark.
"Then that's all that matters." Josh pulls me into a hug.
I'm happy...
