Fourth Year

(Y/N) was a Slytherin, and as we all know, Gryffindor's and Slytherin's don't usually get along very well.

The (h/c) haired girl was not like the other Slytherin's though. She found no pleasure in teasing their red and gold rivals. She may be a pureblood, but that didn't mean she liked treating Muggleborns like scum, unlike some people. Mainly that bleached blonde ferret, Draco Malfoy. She shuddered with disgust at the thought of him.

Yes, (Y/N) did get bullied by Pansy and her little girl gang for being different, but it was worth it.

She rose from her armchair in the Slytherin common room and made her way down to The Great Hall for breakfast.

She made sure to sit well away from her classmates, whom she all found horrible, and sat at the end of the long table. She sighed, pouring herself a bowl of cereal.

She scanned The Great Hall for anything interesting, and her eyes rested on the Gryffindor table. There, she saw three students, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley, all chatting and laughing while enjoying breakfast.

(Y/N) gazed at them wistfully, wishing she could have a friendship like theirs. She continued to look at them, until she realized that the redhead had turned his head to meet her gaze. She instantly looked down at her bowl, feeling the tips of her ears turn red. What she didn't realize was that Ron Weasley was still staring at her, an unfamiliar mix of awe and confusion bubbling inside him.

(Y/N) sat in Snape's Potion's class, dying of boredom. It was the last class of the day. Gryffindor and Slytherin had this class together today. They had been instructed to concoct a Shrinking Potion.

(Y/N), being quite good at Potion's, had finished it with ease. Several of her Slytherin classmates shot her looks of loathing and envy, but she was used to it. She rather wished they would appreciate her talent, instead of mocking her for being a "teacher's pet."

She turned her head to the left, and saw Malfoy glaring at his cauldron in annoyance, muttering something about his potion not bubbling.

(Y/N) tilted her head ever so slightly and saw he had forgotten to light the fire under his cauldron. She thought about telling him, but then she remembered seeing him bullying a first-year Hufflepuff earlier that day. Right, she thought. Let that little douchebag get what he deserves. And so she didn't tell him.

She looked over to her right and saw Ron Weasley, who also seemed to be struggling with his potion. (Y/N) watched carefully and saw an accident waiting to happen. By the way he had his hand positioned, he was going to stir clockwise instead of counter-clockwise.

(Y/N) had seen how Snape treated Ron many times, and didn't want to see him get in trouble again. Why she felt this, she didn't know.

She made sure Snape was facing the other direction, then scribbled something on a piece of parchment. She then reached over and gave Ron a swift tap of the shoulder. He turned around to face her and narrowed his eyes at her. (Y/N) pressed a finger to her lips, then quickly passed him the note. She looked around to see if anyone had noticed. Thankfully, no one had.

**Ron's POV **

What the bloody hell was that all about? I took the note from her suspiciously, and opened it.

You're meant to stir the potion counter-clockwise three times. By the looks of it, you were gonna stir it clockwise. Didn't wanna see you get in trouble with old Greasy Haired Potato again. Malfoy, on the other hand, has another thing coming. Just wait and see.
