2ummer: Chapter Eight

"One million followers?" Maya chuckled. "Wow, I never thought I'd get this many."

"Everybody is loving your debut," Aisha said while scrolling through Twitter. "I feel like a proud mentor."

"Thank you for being by my side through the whole thing." Maya gave her a soft smile.

"Of course Maya." Aisha chuckled. "Okay, we need to work on this song. The internet will go crazy over our collab."

"Extremely." Maya smiled. Her phone buzzed and she sighed.

Lucas
Dinner tonight?
Please.

"Lucas?" Aisha questioned. Maya nodded before tossing her phone aside. "You should talk to them. Just hear them out."

"I'm sick of his apologies. At one point, he's gonna have to stop fucking up."

"Maya, can you meet me in the conference room at five?" Her manager peaked through the door.

"Yes."

She walked back out and shut the door. Maya sighed while standing up. "I should go mentally prepare myself for a long meeting."

"That'd be best. But just think about it, Maya." Sofia smiled. "Don't let love die out."

Maya nodded before heading towards the door. She opened it and walked down the hall. Was her and Lucas' love dying out?

She always thought about that. Maybe it was. That could explain the endless arguments—maybe it was time to call it quits.

She didn't want to. Maya truly loves him deeply, in fact, she's in love with him, but maybe a break could help bring these two back together.

As much as it pained her, something had to change.

To: Lucas
Okay, I think we should talk about some things.

As much as they wanted to make progress, they kept getting pulled back. Maya didn't want to lose Lucas. Disregarding the abusive relationships she was in before, Lucas was her first real one.

Maya headed into the conference room and gasped.

"I'm sorry." She blushed before quickly sitting down next to her manager.

"Maya, welcome." Allison smiled. "You may or may not know this young gentleman sitting across from us."

"Huge fan." Maya awkwardly smiled.

"Same here. Awesome debut." He nodded before running his hands through his hair.

"I called you in here because I think it would be amazing if you guys collaborated on a song together." Allison hyped.

"Oh!" Maya nodded.

"I'm thinking a love song." Allison stood. "We're giving you two creative control. You guys in?"

"Yeah, I'm in." Levi nodded. "As long as Ms. Hart is." He gave her his classic charming smile while waiting for her response.

"I'm in."

"We want it steamy. We have a few demos you guys can get inspiration from, but I want you guys to start on the project ASAP!" She excitedly hurried around the room to grab two folders.

She placed it in front of the two.

"I'm not sure when the due date is yet, I have to get it from the label. Until then, you guys get busy. This conference room is booked until five." Allison said before walking out of the room.
