CJ Benjamin Jones.
I had no clue who's kid he was.Around 5 in the morning, Ivy walked downstairs to get herself some water.
She was startled however when she heard a noise at the front door.
She walked up to the door, grabbing the baseball-bat from the umbrella pot, and for good measure, said: "Florian, if that's you, it's not funny."
After a few seconds, she heard two familiar voices reply.
Her parents entered the house and Ivy put the bat back where it came from.
"You guys scared me!" Ivy said, smiling at her parents.
"We're sorry, but we couldn't stay out on the porch, now could we?" Betty said.
"Everything was okay while we were gone?"
Ivy got a set of flashbacks, drinking with the gang, Florian lap dancing on the kitchen table, having sex with Liz on the couch, and much more.
"Everything's fine." she said, praying her mother wouldn't see through her lies.
"Oh, uhm, Liz arrived here two days ago, literally seconds after you called. She's upstairs, I didn't wanna wake her."
Jughead and Betty unpacked their bags on the kitchen table, Betty carefully took out a small box, wrapped in colourful paper.
"Ooh, did you bring us a present from Greenville?" Ivy joked.
Jughead answered in Betty's place: "No, we were planning on giving it to someone, but we couldn't."
His answer sounded sad.
Ivy was a little confused at the answer and raised a brow.I needed to know what was in that box.
My parents were acting fishy. When her parents left for dinner that night, they wanted to go to Pops as it had been a while, Ivy and Liz sneaked into their room.
"You sure this is a good idea?" Liz questioned Ivy.
"I need to know, my parents only act fishy when something is seriously wrong."
Ivy grabbed a chair to see what was on the top of the closet.
"How do you even know they're keeping it in their room?"
Ivy gasped excitedly when she found the box.
"When we were kids, they would always put our Christmas presents up here. Mika and I used to climb up this closet to open our presents."
They put the box down on the bed and carefully opened the wrapping paper.
"What do you think is in it?" Liz asked her girlfriend, "something like a body part?"
Ivy started lifting up the cover of the box.
"I don't know."
Once the box was open, the two girls looked confused at the contents.
Ivy picked up one of the bibs that was inside, colourfully decorated with the letters "MOMMY'S ANGEL"
"Why is there baby stuff in here?" Liz was confused.
"I'm gonna ask them. I'm gonna ask my parents."Betty and Jughead entered the house and were startled when they saw their daughter and son sitting on the couch, as if they'd been waiting for hours.
"You guys still up?"
"Why did you guys have a box full of baby clothes?" Ivy said, instead of asking.
"What?" Betty asked her.
"I'll repeat my question. Why, in god's name, do you have a box full of baby clothes? Who were you gonna give it to? CJ's mom, maybe?"
Betty and Jughead looked at each other and then at their daughter.
"How did you.."
"A card arrived, yesterday morning." FP added.
Jughead stood up and grabbed Betty's shoulder and said: "It is none of your business."
He then disappeared with Betty upstairs.Ivy and Liz stayed downstairs, without saying a word to each other.
"It is my business." Ivy mumbled.
"You're driving yourself up the wall, Ives, there are more Jones families in American than yours." Liz tried to calm her down. She took her hand and kissed it softly.
"It makes no sense!" Ivy snapped.
"I only know 4 male relatives, my brother FP, my cousin Wes, my grandfather, but he died 5 months ago, and Jay, but his last name is Blossom. It makes no sense!"
"Could Wes have had a kid with his girlfriend?"
"Of course not, Liz, the kid's 15 years old, and I honestly believe he's gay or bi at least."
Ivy got up and walked to the kitchen to get some water.and there it was.
My mother's agenda, withholding the answer I needed to know.
Did I dare?
You bet I did.
