Chapter 9

10 months later

Peeta's POV

I just finished packing Katniss clothes into her luggage. You guys must be wondering why, well Katniss is now 9 months pregnant and is ready to pop next week so just in case the baby decides to come early we are ready. Katniss keeps telling me that if she starts cursing at me and saying that she hates me that she really doesn't mean it. As I put the suitcase on the floor I hear a big crash from down stairs. I run down the long hall, and down the stairs to see Anne trying to bend over to pick up the shattered glass. I quickly run towards her and lightly push her away so I could clean up the mess for her.

"Peeta I can clean it myself I may be pregnant but I can do things on my own you know. "Say's Anne.

I laugh at her and touch her 8 months round belly and say," If you strain yourself your water can break and we will see you curse out Finnick instead of you guys seeing me being cursed at." She roles her eyes with smirk on her face and walks towards the kitchens phone. I'm guessing she is calling the guest to see if they are coming. Me, Finnick, and Anne are getting ready for Katniss babyshower and Anne doesn't know it's her babyshower too. It's a surprise for both of them Anne has already put up pink and blue balloons. Katniss is having a girl and Anne is having a boy. Anne comes out of the kitchen with the car keys and purse in hand saying, "Me and Katniss are off to the mall to buy some food from the store she is picking me up in five minutes I'll see you when I come back okay." I nod in understanding as she walks towards the door.

As soon as I hear the cars leave I run to the backyard doors and call in all the guest. Finnick comes in with gifts and food and places it on the table. "Hey you guys need any help?" I smile at my other best friends Clove, Johanna, Marval, Glimmer, Cato, and Gale and say, "Sure, the girls can set up the food while the guys help me set up the rest of the decorations." They nod and we all get to work.

30 minutes later

All the guest are here even Delly who is also 9 months pregnant. She said that she got pregnant trying to forget about me. To me that is just nasty and evil I feel so sorry for that child of her's. Actually Clove is 7 months pregnant (she will be 9 months pregnant in July), Glimmer is 8 months pregnant, and Johanna is 6 months pregnant (she will be 9 months pregnant in August ). Of course they are married, Clove is married to Cato, Johanna is not married but she knows who the father is but she won't tell us, and Glimmer is married to Marval. "OMG they are here everyone hide!" sreams Finnick. We quickly hide and wait for Anne and Katniss to walk through the door. We here the shuffling of bags, footsteps, and giggles. It's 8:30 pm and that means its dark outside and since the lights are out its pretty much dark inside the house. Finnick is near the light switch waiting for the girls to enter the liver room.

I hear Katniss say, "I guess the boys aren't home."

When the lights turn on we jump up and scream, "SURPRISE!"

Katniss and Anne stare in shock at the decorations, food, gifts, and people. Me and Finnick walk up to our wives and say, "Anne you must be wondering why your name is up on the wall along with Katniss. Well this baby shower is for both of you."

Katniss POV

As Peeta finishes his sentence I begin to cry, "Awe man I hate being pregnant it makes you cry when you don't want to." Peeta laughs at me and kisses my lips. Anne stands there with shock yet excitement. We sit down on rocking chairs displayed for us. Mine is pink while Anne's is blue, even the rest of the pregnant women have rocking chairs but theirs is white. "Well let the games begin." Screams Finnick we laugh at him.

We play a bunch of games, eat, give small speeches, which of course when Peeta did his speech he made me cry so hard that they had to trying and calm me down. I cried for ten minutes while saying how much I love Peeta.

When we got to the gifts Peeta and Finnick quickly grabbed out camera's to take pictures.

I got a changing table and changing pad, dresser, hamper, high chair, a bathtub for infants, clothing hangers, audio monitor, nightlight, convertible car seat, feeding equipment, stroller, diapers, and lots of clothes. Anne got the same things as me except she got a couple of gift cards while I got cards with cash.

While standing up giving my thanks and gratitude I feel a sharp pain through my bladder then "SPLASH"

Everyone gasp and Finnick runs towards the kitchen while Peeta runs upstairs while Anne tells me to take deep yet slowly breathes. Finnick comes out with keys and Peeta comes out with luggage in hand. Anne helps me walk to the door. Johanna quickly tells the men to set up the stuff for the baby upstairs while the girls who are pregnant go with Katniss. Anne then says, "Wait let Delly and Glimmer stay to tell the men where to put the stuff." They nod and get to work the rest of the guest which include my sidter and family stay to clean up. I then here a loud scream then I realize that it was me and Anne screaming.

"Why are you sreaming? Your not in labor!" "Because you squeezed my hand really hard."

As they help me in the car I think to myself this is it my baby girl is ready to enter the world. I just hope I make it through labor.
