Chapter Nine

Three days later, me and Maxon had barely left the room.

I was also late.

I was never late. I didn't want to worry Maxon, so when we went to the store together I snuck away and bought a pregnancy test. I bought it before Maxon saw, and took when we got back to the room. I took a shower to pass the time, but it didn't really help. Five minutes later, I was too afraid to open my eyes.

What if it was negative? I would be devastated.

But what if it was positive?

I opened my eyes slowly and got my answer.
