"I can't believe it!" Adrian grumbled. "It's as if they don't trust us!"

"Well, with prize money thrown in, many people would want to put their names in," said Addy. "Remember the death toll, too. I reckon they think it'll be better if wizards of age died rather than twelve-year-olds."

"Do you think there could be a way to cheat it — the Age Line?" he asked.

Cassie shook her head. "First of all, Dumbledore drew the Age Line and I'm sure he made it with no mistake. Secondly, I saw Fawcett go to the hospital wing and I heard from Diggory some Hufflepuff girl was sent up, too, after trying to get past it."

They entered the Entrance Hall. Dozens of students already filled the area, surrounding the Goblet of Fire. Cassie saw Viola in the crowd. As Addy and Adrian continued into the Great Hall, Cassie strode over towards her.

"Hey," Cassie greeted.

"Cassie! Hey," Viola replied.

"What are you doing? Put your name in!" Cassie encouraged.

"Hmm, I don't know," she said slowly. "If I do get chosen, and the tasks are dangerous, I won't be able to back out."

"Just go for it!" Cassie told her. "You know me and Addy will help you."

Viola sighed, thinking for a moment. "Yeah, all right." She walked over to the Goblet of Fire and dropped her name in.

"Brilliant!" Cassie exclaimed.

Just then, a group of boys playing around pushed Cedric Diggory towards the goblet. They pushed him through the Age Line and he glanced at Cassie with a smile. She gave a thumbs up to encourage him. The piece of parchment dropped from his hand and into the goblet.

"Loads of people think he'll get it," said Viola as people were cheering for him. "All the Hufflepuffs."

"Well, he's very popular," Cassie replied.

Then, there was loud laughter coming from the end of the hall. It was the Weasley twins and Lee Jordan.

"Think they managed to figure it out?" asked Viola.

Almost everyone at school knew the three were brewing something to make them able to cross the line.

Cassie shrugged. "Don't know, but I doubt it."

There was a sizzling sound. The twins were inside the Age Line. Then, both of them were hurled out, landing ten feet away. Then, both of them began to grow white beards, similar to Dumbledore.

Cassie and Viola howled with laughter.

"I did warn you," said a deep, amused voice, and everyone turned to see Professor Dumbledore coming out of the Great Hall. "I suggest you both go up to Madam Pomfrey. She is already tending to Miss Fawcett, of Ravenclaw, and Mr. Summers, of Hufflepuff, both of whom decided to age themselves up a little too. Though I must say, neither of their beards is anything like as fine as yours."

"Come on," said Cassie. "Let's go before Addy and Adrian start snogging."

Viola chuckled, following her into the Great Hall.

"You had a nice beard, Weasley," said Cassie just before he entered the Great Hall. "Really beautiful."

"Shut up," said Fred, blushing from embarrassment.

"'scuse me," said a voice.

Cassie turned around. It was the boy from Beauxbatons. His eyes were prettier up close.
