"Turn away, Draco," Cassie said and she turned him around.

"Out of here, quickly," ordered Snape.

The Death Eaters exited the Astronomy Tower and headed down. Cassie drew her wand, deflecting the spells coming towards them. Of course, the Carrows and Greyback wouldn't back down from the fight. They loved it.

"It's over!" Snape called. "Time to go! Now!"

"Cassie... " She had met eye contact with Hermione. Hermione wasn't too surprised, but at the same time, she felt sad. She had seen Cassie try to be good — try to change. They both raised their wands at each other, but Cassie's wand was trembling in her palm. Before the spell hit her, Snape conjured a protection spell, then grabbed her wrist, pulling her along with the others.

Bellatrix smiled gleefully as she skipped along the corridors, wrecking the few armor statues and shattering the windows, letting the cold, crisp air in.

They exited the school and onto the training grounds. They had walked towards the forest, heading towards Hagrid's hut.

"Snape!" called a distant, angry voice. "He trusted you!"

Bellatrix, not having heard a thing as she was too immersed in triumph and joy, laughed. With a wave of her wand, she had set fire to the hut, the flames coming out from the door and windows.

Draco stumbled back from the explosion and turned to Cassie with a terrified expression. Cassie looked at Snape, also seeing Potter advancing.

"Go on," he commanded.

Cassie grabbed Draco's hand, pulling him into the forest behind the other Death Eaters. Draco noticed her hand began shaking more. She was still trembling. She felt her heart racing, her palms sweating. She started to feel dizzy — everything started to blur.

"Cass... " Draco held his sister's hand with both of his. Slowly, she calmed down. Draco, seeing her better, started guiding her beyond the gates where they could Disapparate.

"Is this becoming too much for you, darling?" asked Yaxley and he smirked. "The Malfoy family is known to cower in fear."

"Don't — don't say that!" Draco defended, holding on tight to his wand. "Without us, Dumbledore wouldn't be dead."

"Actually, Snape had been the one to do it," Alecto corrected. "You failed your every attempt, Draco."

"Enough of this bicker." Snape had joined them, no emotion upon his face. "We must leave now."

Noticing Cassie seemed too shaken up, he grabbed her arm, then Draco's, and disappeared along with the other Death Eaters.

In the hospital wing, the Order was getting treated. Each one looked exhausted, worn out, and sad. Especially Bill — who had been scratched by the deadly werewolf — and Tonks — who had been dealing with Cassie's betrayal the hardest. The others, needless to say, saw it coming.

Then, when Fred and George had got there and heard the story from Harry, he too was in a dark place.

"She aided Draco in trying to kill Dumbledore... the necklace, the poison, all of it. She and Snape were at the Astronomy Tower on their sides... "

It was silent. Fred was confused and still hurt, dealing with the pain in his heart from their breakup.

"She was helping them all along," said Harry. "Ever since she joined the Order. She was passing information, keeping an eye on me."

There were too many questions left unanswered, too many scenarios he could think in his head, too many emotions. And at first, he couldn't believe it.
