Rainfur's Death Was Heartbreaking..
Goosefeather looked sympathetic as he stared at the dead queen "I'm going to get moss to clean her and the..mess."
He left the five apprentices to grieve. Whitepaw and Specklepaw tried comforting their sister, who looked like she was about to break down. Dapplepaw placed a paw on her mother's chest, maybe trying to feel for a heartbeat and to see if there was hope that she was alive.
But it was still.
Tears welled up again in her eyes as she wailed like a kit. She herself trembled like a leaf as she leaned her head on her. Tawnypaw was crying as well as Thrushpaw, who felt like something clawed at his heart.
Why did you have to go so soon mother?
A shadow blocked the dull light coming from the outside, they had thought it was Goosefeather already, who must have brought the moss, but it was someone else.
Windflight.
The gray warrior looked in horror at the sight in front of him. He must have smelled the foul order of her vomit because he scrunched up his nose at disgust. If someone had seen him, he would look like the antagonist at their perspective.
Which he did.
Dapplepaw raised her head to see who was the one blocking the light. Her eyes turned into slits as her teeth bared instinctively, meaning she felt angry.
"You.." She growled.
Despite Windflight being tall and older than her, he looked like he was being cornered, as he cowered at her gaze.
"I'm sorry," He apologized "I did not me-..
He did not finish what he wanted to say because of a ferocious snarl drowned his soft voice. Dapplepaw carefully walked over her mother's body, stepping on the disgusting liquid, although it looked like that she didn't mind. Her claws unsheathed as she ran up to him, leaping at the surprised tom, making them tumble outside in a wheel like how Thrushpaw had did with Rainfur yesterday.
And just like the other day, it was Dapplepaw who ended up top, pinning the warrior from underneath her.
"You're sorry?!" She let out a sarcastic laugh "It sure does look like you are."
Her claws dug deep on his throat, blood starting to pour slowly out. His eyes flashed in alarm as he used his hind legs to kick her off, which he managed to do.
"I am!" He meowed "I ran as fast as I can when I heard that she..passed away."
Other cats got attracted at the two who had caught their attention. The tortoiseshell apprentice's pelt bristled, her tail bushy as it kept lashing. She let out a frustrated growl as she charged at him again. Her claws swiped at him, he had dodged a few, but some managed to hit his face, some at his chest, dangerously close to his throat.
When she leaped, he ran.
When she swiped her claws, he dodged.
When she pinned him down again, he scratched her face instinctively.
Blood poured down from the huge gash on her cheek. All four claws managed to scrape skin. Dapplepaw's scratches on him are not as critical as his blow is, hers only seemed like little scrapes since she was an apprentice, the one on his throat was the only serious wound.
Tawnypaw had ran up to them to yank her away. Goosefeather has came out of his den with a ball of wet moss. He just stared at the three cats in the clearing, not wanting to intervene.
