A Lot of Things Happened During The Past Moon. But it was for the better.
Speckletail and Smallear officially became mates, as predictable as it can be. Thrushpelt barely sees her because she's either on patrols or taking a walk with her mate by the river. White-eye was happy for her sister, joking about how she was free from the overprotective yet supportive pale ginger she-cat.
"Its better that she has someone to bother care for." The she-cat purred "But I gotta admit that I miss her presence just encouraging me to do stupid stuff at the side."
Every now and then Thrushpelt's paws brought himself to the nursery even without noticing he was actually there. His inner sense always made him check on either Poppydawn or Moonflower's kits, Snowkit being the one to respond and squeak in delight while Bluekit eyed him curiously, her eyes gleaming in the dark shadows. And he also noticed that they got their eye colors, both have blue eyes, different shades though. Snowkit's was as blue as the sky, Bluekit's was more of a darker color, color of the river during a warm afternoon in Greenleaf.
And just today, Thrushpelt was headed for the nursery, a sparrow in his mouth as he was taking it to Poppydawn for her share. But then he saw a fiery ginger tom leave the den, a smile on his face.
He looks moony..
"Sunfall?" The ThunderClan deputy snapped out of his daze as he loooked at the warrior. "What are you doing here?"
Sunfall flicked his tail at the entrance of the nursery "I caught a vole and thought if Moonflower would like something to eat already."
"Didn't Stormtail bring her anything?"
At the mention of the senior warrior his eyes darkened. Didn't he and Stormtail get along? "He haven't even brought her anything for several sunrises the last time I checked." He grumbled, padding away.
Who put fire ants in his nest?
He just shrugged it off as he entered the den. The two kits were chasing each other around while the queens were eating their prey.
"Oh, hi Thrushpelt!" Moonflower purred "Care for another groom?"
"The thought of a groom is tempting but it seems weird if Bluekit and Snowkit see me, even the others," Thrushpelt meowed, whiskers twitching as he placed the prey down. "I was going to give Poppydawn her share for today."
But the she-cat he mentioned seemed to be busy at the moment, finishing the remnants that had looked like it came and was actually a mouse. The red furred queen licked her lips to get any morsel on her whiskers as she looked up at him. "Windflight already gave me my share for today..we'll be also sharing his catch later, sorry," she apologized, making the tom just nod and pick up the warm feathery animal.
"Its okay, at least you're fed."
He said a muffled meow of goodbye before leaving the nursery. As he was about to put it back on the pile he can see a pale ginger tabby eye his prey with hunger nearby. They eyes locked onto each other as the tom chuckled, dropping the bird on his paws.
"Hey Speckletail, have you had your share for today?" His foster sister shook her head. He gestured the she-cat to come over.
"Here." Thrushpelt gave her the sparrow, Speckletail bowed her head slightly in thanks as she sat down to eat, the tom laying down beside her. The she-cat was swiftly taking bites out of the prey, like it was the middle of leafbare.
"Woah there, why are you so hungry? You just ate a fat vole the other day, and I saw you share the leftover squirrel with White-eye this dawn." Speckletail had finished eating the whole thing on her own as she just shyly smiled at him.
