"What if I can talk to animals?" Nathan inquired with a thoughtful look.

Kelly groaned in annoyance. "Why would you even think that?"

"I saw this basset hound eating a kebab off the pavement. I was like 'you dirty bastard' and this basset hound gave me a right funny look."

She raised an eyebrow, unimpressed."He probably thought you were a twat."

"No it wasn't that kind of look. It was more like, 'Are you talking to me?' "

Some women passed by, craddling their baby as they balanced a ton of objects on their back and in their arms such as nappies, bottles...

Nathan pointed at the women with a smirk. "See ? Babies. That's why I always use a condom. And if the girl is dirty, I always use two. Belt and braces."

Jade rolled her eyes in silence as she played a game on her phone. Simon was sitting next to Jade with his back against the wall, and he kept sneaking glances at Jade as his mind went back to his discussion with Sally.

Was she really hiding something big?

The sound of the front door opening caught their attention, and they turned to see a girl making her way towards them as her eyes swept around the hall.

"Hey, you seen Curtis ?" She asked.

They exchanged a surprised look.

"Who are you ?" Kelly asked.

"I'm his girlfriend."

They all lasped in a shocked silence.

"Do you know where he is?"

Yeah, in a cupboard butt naked with Alisha. The cheeky fucker....

Kelly slapped Jade's arm when she heard her thoughts, causing the pink haired girl to muffle a laugh under her palm.

"He's been arrested." Nathan blurted.

The girl raised an eyebrow. "What for?"

"For..." Nathan searched for an excuse as his eyes widened."Exposing himself."

"What?" She asked with an eyebrow raised in doubt.

"Yeah." Nathan smiled. "Flashing."

"At some scouts." Simon added with an innocent look.

Jade raised her eyebrows at them. What's with them lying to cover Curtis' ass?

Nathan snickered. "Try tying a knot in that! Or maybe you have."

"Very funny..." She deadpanned. "When you see him, can you get him to call Sam?"

"Okay." He nodded.

She left the community centre under everyone's curious eyes.

"She seems nice." Nathan said.

A few seconds later Curtis was back, and Nathan smirked as soon as he noticed him.

"You girlfriend was here. The other one. We covered for you, though."

"Are you cheating on both of them?" Jade asked with a raised eyebrow. "I'd never pinned you for the cheater type."

"I always wanted to be a cheat. I'm just too disorganized. I struggle to remember one girl's name." Nathan said, and his eyes met Jade's as she threw him a disappointed look.

"Why am I not even surprised ?" Jade grumbled.

He fell silent, struck by a flash of hurt.

Curtis sighed. "It's not like that. I've tried to finish with Sam. I tell her it's over, she starts to cry and you know what it's like when girls cry."
