"If it's one thing life has taught me, It's that I need to love myself a little bit more." - Aaliyah Jay

2 Timothy 1:7, "For God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline."
That you see, I try to restate that verse within my mind every time but it never stays within my mind. I feel too deep, I feel too much. I try every distraction, every satisfaction to cover up my insecurities. I try to write, to sing, to play my way out. I can't say that I haven't been happy and if I did... I'd be lying to myself.
After doing my daily writing/crying session, I went to the kitchen to get a snack.
Lisa: "Can you make some too, please."
"You don't even know what I'm gonna eat."
Lisa: "I'll eat whatever you're eating."
"When did you get home?"
Lisa: "An hour ago. I thought nobody was home, so I'm just chillin. What were you doing and why are your eyes red?" She said while coming to the kitchen.
"Just writing and listening to music. My eyes are red?"
Lisa: "Yeah, were you crying?"
"No."
Lisa: "Are you okay, sis?"
"I'm fine."
Lisa: "You sure? You know I'm here if you wanna talk."
"I know, I just had a nightmare last night."
Lisa: "You sure it was just a nightmare and nothing else?"
"I'm sure."
Lisa: "Just wanna know if you're okay."
"Im fine. You wanna tell me who's that guy you were hugging on your Instagram post?"
Lisa: "You know that you make a bomb a$$ grilled cheese sandwich?"
We laughed.
"Quit avoiding the question and tell me."
Lisa: "Okay, I'll tell you. But for real, you make a mean grilled cheese sandwich."
I laughed.
