Honestly I couldn't tell you what time Derek and the others left my house, but I knew for a fact that they left before the sun raised. When I went down stairs my car was in the driveway with the keys on the table, I was kind of sad that they didn't take me along with them but I assumed Derek had it his reasons... he always has his reasons.
You can say that twice, the voice snickered in my head,
"Stop ruining my internal monologue," I retorted back at them,
"Who's ruining your internal monologue?" A voice asked, I turned around to see my aunt in the living sipping from her coffee mug,
"Uh, nothing don't worry about it," I said dismissively, "did you see Derek and the others before they left?"
"I believe they left after another young man showed up, he brought your car from the school, they all talked, Derek said something about training them, and then they left," she said recalling what happened,
"And they didn't think to, oh, I don't know, take me along with them?" I asked rhetorically, I walked into the kitchen to get some breakfast,
"Well I'm sure they would have, but I believe Derek thought you didn't need training," my aunt said from the living room,
I walked around the kitchen island and started to pull out a frying pan, as all I had on my mind was bacon and eggs.
"Why do you think that?" I asked her as I grabbed the items from the fridge,
My aunt didn't respond and all I heard was some shuffling coming from the living room. A moment later she walked in with what look like two broom sticks in her hand. I stopped what I was doing and she gestured me closer to her. Timidly I walked around the island and stood across from her.
"What's going on?" I asked her with concern, she tossed one of the sticks at me, and I caught it with ease,
"Testing a theory," she said stoically, I was about to ask what she meant, but before I could she swung her stick over her hand and brought it crashing down towards me,
My body went into autopilot raising my arms upwards, to use the stick defensively. I blocked her strike, but that didn't stop her from swinging again and again.
"What! Are! You! Doing!" I said frantically blocking each hit,
"Don't think little lion, just react," my aunt said to me, she stepped spinning her stick ease around her arms and back, then quickly she sent a strike directly at me like a spear,
I blocked the strike, and used the momentum from the hit to knock her backwards, she stumbled but held her ground. She came again, but this time I dodged backwards and grabbed the stick from her, twisting it in her hands. She gasped at this and I used my strength to pull the stick away from her, once she was weaponless, I smirked and spun the sticks in each hand.
