"Lydia, wait, stop," I said to the strawberry blonde as I parked my car outside the animal clinic, "what kind of dream was it?"
"Well, less Alice in wonderland, more Freddy Kruger," Lydia said to me in a sigh,
"Okay and on a scale of one to ten, how much terrible was it?" I asked her, I leant against the glass as I waited for Derek and the others to arrive,
"About a solid nine," Lydia groaned, "stupid calculator!"
"Excuse you? Do I look like a calculator?" I asked playing along with her words,
"No, sorry, I'm just trying to study and this stupid calculator... just died on me!" Lydia said angrily, a moment later a loud thud came through the phone,
"If only the others knew that the queen bee of the school, was actually a mathematically inclined genius, their hearts would stop," I said dramatically with a chuckle as the sound of a car engine approaching made me look around,
"And if you tell them, I will socially execute you," Lydia said making me roll my eyes, "you'll never get a date or sit in proper social circle for the rest of your school life,"
"Ouuu, I'm scared," I said in monotone voice, I looked over see Derek's car pulling up, "listen I gotta go, try not to murder your calculator between now and midnight,"
"No promises," she said in snippy voice, "also when am I going to meet this boyfriend of yours,"
"What? What boyfriend?" I asked in stunned voice, a moment later Derek and Isaac got out of the car, so I looked away and lowered my voice, "I don't know what you're talking about..."
"Mhmm, yeah yeah, save it for a judge... just invite me to the wedding," Lydia said and I knew she was smiling through the phone, the sound of someone tapping against my window made me look over to see Derek half smirking,
"Good bye Lydia!" I said loudly as I opened my door, she hummed into the phone before hanging up, I got out and closed back the door only to turn and see Derek looking at me, "what?"
"Good thing we didn't kill her huh?" I heard Isaac say smugly, I stepped around Derek to see the taller blonde boy smirking over at me,
"And if you had killed her... I would've-" I started to say,
"What? Rip my throat out with your teeth?" Isaac asked cutting me off with a laugh, I narrowed my eyes and focused, calling upon the more spiritual side in me, to show itself,
"No," I said shaking my head, then suddenly thunder clapped loudly above us, Isaac jumped and looked up at the sky, as thunder clouds started to form, "something... far worse!"
Isaac stared at the sky with frightened eyes, so I looked over at Derek who had this look of adoration in his eyes. I started to walk over to the door, with them trailing behind me.
