Chapter 23

Your anger forces your full powers to come out and you are somersaulted into your inner world. There you you meet your darker self in the strangest of ways...

Inner World

"It's March…" The words echo around your head like thunder... Which is ironic because the weather is pretty nice here in your inner world even though winter is in full swing, sadly. And winter could last all year here… As you stare out the window of one of the hotel like room windows you cannot help but relish in the soft glow coming in through the window. The fog seems to hang in the air as birds lazily fly past the room window and billow up the fog in soft white and gray swirls. You love watching the birds... They've always been so free. They never had to conform to authority, or listen to anyone babble, they had their duties and they were more than happy to do it. That's all you wanted for Kisuke and Ichigo... In the light of the room now, the only thing visible is the flesh of your frowning face. Slowly, you watch the light fade away until you can no longer see yourself. Rolling over onto your side, you snuggle into the bed and its giant fluffy pillows with a yawn. It was weird being back here in your inner world... You simply lay there with your chin resting on the pillows, your left arm resting under the pillows to give your head some support and your right hand held the blankets curled up in your fist close to your body as you simply stared at the backs of your eyelids. The one good thing about this whole peaceful moment is that it's simple to ignore the voices rumbling inside of his head. When you're in this blissful state of calmness you could answer to no one. Yet again, you're okay with this. People talk too much. As you lay there you feel another pressence enter the room... You smile but don't open your eyes. An evil chuckle fills the room.

"So you've come back to us..." You crack open one eye and look at your darker self.

"Heh. It feels like I've been away forever..." Your other self frowns disapprovingly.

"You've been locked away from us for months, (Name)." You frown a little but nod your head as you stare intently at the sheets.

"I need your help... I... I remember almost everything. But, I need to fight for Ichigo and Kisuke. I can't lose them." Your darker self pulls her lip back in a snarl.

"I don't know... If I let them die then the anger you unleash will be beautiful."

"And deadly." You snarl out in response.

"I'd sooner kill myself then be alive while they're dead. And you'll do well to remember that because you'd die along with me." Your darker self snarks back at you before suddenly stabbing you through the chest. You feel your full powers and memories flooding back through you.

"Thank you." You whisper softly as your launched back to the world of the living.
