"The clock is moving
Hands to midnight
Can we get through this?
While the walls come down we all pretend
Here comes the end."

"Of course Dad would be involved in the assassination. I should've known," Diego muttered, having sat down long ago with his gaze on the floor. Five paced in front of him, slightly shaking his head, "No, you're jumping to conclusions."
"But it's still a possibility," Emilia pointed out, slowly pushing herself off of the wall which she had been leaning against while trying to process what she had just seen. "He was there and he never did like to talk about his past."
"But he also could not be involved," Five retorted, giving the girl a pointed look while she nodded her head in agreement. After all, she could see both sides of the argument.
"What else is he doing standing on the grassy knoll, holding an open black umbrella on a sunny day in Dallas, the exact same moment the president gets shot?" Diego practically yelled, now getting up form his seat and moving across the room so that he was now yelling in Five's face.
"Woah," Emilia said, quickly stepping in front of Diego so that Five was now behind her. She was watching the man hesitantly, her eyes flickering over his face as she held her hands up and said, "Calm down, Diego. It's not Five's fault Dad was there."
Diego glanced at her, his breathing still heavy. He stared at her for a long moment before finally closing his eyes and letting out a small sigh as his shoulders relaxed. Sometimes he really hated when Emilia was right.
Emilia gently grabbed onto Diego's arm and gave it a small squeeze, smiling softly at the boy before Lila suddenly spoke up, "I hate to ruin the moment, but you two keep referring to this man as your father? Does that mean you're—?"
"No," Emilia and Diego immediately replied, while Emilia glared daggers at the girl. "He just adopted us," Diego clarified, but the brunette was already pulling away from him and letting her hand fall back down to her side with a small scowl while Lila tried to hide her smile. That only made Emilia more pissed off and she began to think of different ways to burn Lila and make it look like an accident.
"It doesn't look good, I admit," Five finally said once he noticed that Diego was calm thanks to Emilia. "No, he's the signalman for the whole goddamn thing," Diego muttered, his eyes momentarily looking at Emilia in slight concern at her sudden change in emotion before he gently held a hand on her arm and gave it a soft squeeze.
"Easy, Diego," Five said while the man rolled his eyes. "Seriously." "No, it makes sense," Diego insisted, letting his hand drop from Emilia's arm as he looked between the two who were both watching him with the same look on his face. The sight of their similar expressions was enough to throw him for a second, having not seen them together like that for a while and it making him realize just how much he had missed them. "This is what Hazel was obviously trying to tell you. We have to stop Dad from killing the president."
