Amara who was now twelve years old followed her brother as they wandered the jungles of the planet Yavin 4. Their mother had gone to visit an old friend from the days of the Empire and brought the children along. While their mother spoke to this old friend the two decided to explore the jungle.
"Ben where are you going?" Amara laughed as she watched her brother hop over rocks and fallen down trees. The two continued for a little when they found a large tree that seemed to be smaller than the rest. Amara continued to walk trying to catch up watching as her brother looked at the tree in admiration. Just before she had caught up, she noticed Ben begin climbing the tree. She began running trying to stop the small boy, but by the time she reached the tree he was already about halfway up.
"Ben be careful please" She pled as she watched the small boy scale the tree. Ben climbed onto a branch a few feet from where his sister stood. The boy stood on the branch bouncing on it slightly trying to show his sister that he was alright.
"look I'm fin-" before the boy could finish his sentence the branch snapped sending the boy falling almost twenty feet toward the ground.
"BEN" Amara yelled as she watched her brother fall. Her hands flew in front of her as she tried to catch him. Before Ben could hit the ground he stopped hovering just inches from the grass. Amara stood shocked refusing to move. Leia ran toward her kids helping Ben back to his feet and pulling him to her chest.
"Oh my, Ben are you okay?" the boy nodded in response as he looked at his sister in fear and confusion. Amara ran forward hugging her brother tightly.
"I don't...how didn't I.....what?" Ben spluttered confused. Leia smiled slightly putting a hand on the shoulder of both her children
"I think it's about time Amara talked to Uncle Luke" Amara caught on to what her mother had said quickly. Excitement filled the girl as her eyes widened. Ben watched his sister.
"No fair" Ben said filled with jealousy crossing his arms against his chest. Leia laughed kneeling so she was level with the small boy
"don't worry. your day will come" The three made their way back to their ship heading back home quickly. Once they arrived back on their home planet. Leia pulled the kids in the direction of their home where Luke would be. When they got there they noticed Chewbacca sitting on their couch. The two kids jumped on the giant Wookie giving him a hug while their mother searched for her brother.
"Chewie you'll never guess what I did today" Amara said as she curled up on his chest. The Wookie's arms wrapped around both children as he listened to the girl.
"I saved Ben from hitting the ground after he fell out of a tree... with the force" Leia returned with her brother and husband as they listened to what the girl said.
"She used the force?" Han whispered to Leia who nodded in response. Amara noticed her uncle running toward him and hugging him.
"Good job Amara." Luke said as he crouched to the girl's height patting her on the head.
"now you must learn to control it. I'm going to start training soon and you will be one of my first Padawan's" Luke tapped the girl's nose as she giggled and hugged him again.

After several years the day after Amara's sixteenth birthday Luke had planned to bring her and Ben to the Jedi temples to finally begin training. Amara sat at the kitchen counter eating left over cake while she spoke with her uncle.
"how long will we be gone?" Amara asked her uncle.
"At least a year. It's up to you how quickly you learn" Amara nodded. She put her dish away and made her way into her room to begin packing what she deemed necessary. After a few hours she was all done and began prepping herself for bed. She made her way down the long hallway to Ben's room. Ben sat on his bed with a look of fear in his eyes.
