~Flashback~
"Meli!" The young girl's cry could be heard throughout the whole castle, as the door bangs open harshly, revealing an almost empty courtyard. At only five years old, her small head of long, strawberry hair seemed to blur with abnormal speed. Her chest rose significantly with every breath, as the two males in front of her took in her sudden appearance.
As the surprise faded from their faces, smiles replaced the mouths shaped like 'o's'. "Hey Rosie! What are you doing here?" The owner of green emeralds asked her, widening as the small body flies into him. Finding her target, her face relaxes, the familiar setting rushing over her. Opening her eyes, the lightest shade of blue hair meets her, as the other man has bent over laughing.
"Oh, Rose-Bud!" His laughter filled the courtyard, causing her smile to beam brighter. Tears filling his eyes, he takes a step back, as she finds her feet connecting with the ground.
Looking back at the man with untamed blonde hair, looking as if he were more of a boy than man, her face falls only slightly. "What's wrong, Rosie?" She didn't miss the way his eyes attempted to hide the guilt for tampering the cute smile that had once captivated her.
"Big sisters say you're leaving again soon." Her big blue orbs water slightly, the only real physical appearance that so much resembled the family that had taken her in, just a short year ago. He couldn't help but smile with too many emotions when her sentence comes out almost perfect.
"Yep." He says it short, abrupt. Regretting it almost immediately as her eyes begin to tear.
"Will you come back to me soon?"
His smile makes it's way back to his face, whispering so only she could hear...
~Flashback over~
"Rosalinda!" I jerk suddenly, waking from the thoughts as memories from before the tragic night almost exactly ten year ago. They disappear, leaving the whispering words of him fading from my ears. "How do you expect us to get anywhere if you're zoning out all the time?!"
I turn my head, trying very hard to not laugh for the thousandth time about the too big Armour her small body is framed by. I respect her for doing this, restraining myself due to the fact we are both hungry and thirsty. Days of not eating had taken its toll, both of us too pale, not that you could tell from the dirt and sweat plastered to us. I sigh, pulling up the hood of the cloak around me. The first thing we were able to find to hide me.

Hours later, both of us were more tired than before, everything aching more and more with each step. "Look!" I say, my voice cracking.
In front of us was the oddest little building, small with a roof in the shape of a witch's hat. I could hear the mixture of yells and laughter.
"Do you think its safe?" Elizabeth asked, attempting to hide the shakes I knew were racking her entire body.
"Only one way to find out." I begin leading her, hearing the voices turn into silence before raising octaves to panic. As we enter, the whole tavern becomes silent. There gruff faces captivated with fear, before they all scrambled past us, yelling in fear of the "seven deadly sins." I scoff, 'there are eight deadly sins, thank you very much." And while they may be correct about me, they were far off with Elizabeth.
Left in the tavern were two creatures. A pig, who I could swear was talking, but i blamed it on the exhaustion as I hear my sister fall next to me. Thankful for the non-grassy ground below her. I sway in place, fighting the closing of my eyes, feeling the arms of someone grabbing my short frame as I lean forward. I raise my eyes, praying that my sleeve still covered my wrist.
I'm met by emerald greens that hold so much familiarity, messy blonde hair tickling the edge of my finger, my arms lazily and painfully thrown up his chest to the back of his neck. I grin in the slightest of ways.
"Meli?"
