This is my life now
I slept the whole flight. I thanked everyone who helped me for these past two weeks.
I came back and walking through the airport was my worst nightmare.
How did they know I was coming back today?
Cameras everywhere. People asking questions. I didn't say a word as I was escorted to a vehicle.
I didn't make it all the way. I am pulled into someone's arms.
Can Amarion give me a break!
I push him away from me.
"Why are you here?" I hiss at him.
He doesn't speak right away.
No.
He's not doing this right now.
Amarion gets down on one knee and pulls out a velvet box? Opening it to reveal a beautiful ring.
The airport goes silent. The damn airport is silent! Well, you can hear cameras flickering but still.
"Iz-" he starts.
I simply say, "No." and I walk past him. The cameras follow in a frenzy.
Ugh.
Is he crazy! I get into the car with Afi.
"I want to see my parents... now!"
"I'll send someone to bring them to your house," Afi says.
House...
I haven't been to a 'house' since I was ten.
I'm so used to condos and apartments.
I now live in a gated community.
Great.
When we pull up I just want to know why I need a house this large.
I have a couple of minutes before my parents arrive. I do a little exploring.
I already feel alone.
Afi trails behind me.
I reach the backyard and I immediately turn to Afi, "ironic much?"
I have a pool and I can't swim.
Before I know it they arrive.
I sit in my new living space. Everything is white. I don't like it much. White has a meaning that's so far from what I'm feeling I'm disgusted.
And they just had to bring my sister.
"You guys can sit, I'm not a monster." They are all so stiff and standing.
They take a seat.
"I want to know why you are on his side?" I ask.
Mother speaks up first, "you know that we have been planning this for a while. You were supposed to be wed five years ago! You disappeared for a year Isabella!"
And for that year I gave everyone except Amarion an update every other month. While I gave that man weekly updates.
I'm not going to have a screaming contest.
"After my first Olympics, I tore my ACL. I didn't want anyone to know. I was depressed and I was going to therapy and I was going to rehab for my leg. I thought if I told you guys you wouldn't let me run again. So I worked hard, I pushed my limits and I came back, I couldn't make you guys worry especially when I'm still dealing with the heart condition." I say with a straight face.
