Again part-6

As expected, both me and lei were shocked as hell, seeing him here. Lei looked at me apologetically while jungkook stood there shocked.

" Kook, come and sit here" kylie called him while he just sighed and sat down beside her, gulping down some water.

" What happened? Why are y'all like this?" Kylie asked, sipping her water before putting both her hands on the table.

" I-, um y/n is my ex-" jungkook blurted out and cleared his throat.

" Oh, Oh-" kylie was speechless while lei choked on his water, I patted his back calming him down.

" It's okay, let's just treat this as a friends gathering okay?" Kylie said composing herself.

" No kylie you don't have to-" I tried to tell her that it was okay.

" Y/n, I can't do that to you, no, also, jungkook isn't serious about this either, are you?" she asked him. He sighed and smiled at her apologetically.

" It's just, taehyung set me up with her, they are co-workers" he explained.
We just opened the menu to order to divert the awkwardness, soon we were conversing with each other a lot and our awkwardness disappeared.

" Thank you for coming guys" kylie smiled.

" It's just a dinner, it's okay ky, do you need a ride back home?" I asked her while lei talked to jungkook.

" No, I can just take the bus-" she said.

" Looking like this? Just come with me" I smiled again.

" Jungkook also came by the bus" she looked awkward.

" It's okay let's just ride with y/n " lei suggested and pulled the both of them towards my car as I laughed.

" Shotgun then" kylie smiled like a kid.

" She called it y'all" I sat in the driver's seat and everyone got in, I started driving to kylie's place, since it was the nearest.

" Kylie do you wanna crash at my place?" lei asked.

" Nah I have to go to the studio early tomorrow" she smiled and started playing some music as we talked.
Soon, we reached kylie's place, she waved us goodbye as she stumbled back to her place.

" Jungkook, what are you up to?" lei striked a conversation with him.

" Mmh? Nothing much, just working on the new concepts for the album." he replied politely.

" Y/n, I wanna say something to you " lei said all of a sudden.

" Lei are you sure you wanna say it with me in here? " jungkook was hesitant.

" It's okay jungkook, Y/n, I really appreciate today, I know you don't really have that kind of intentions towards me, I understand, So I just wanna say thank you for trying " he sounded sad.

" Lei I-" I suddenly felt guilty, I really tried to like him, but no matter how, I couldn't see him as more.

" Y/n you can't force something that you don't feel, trust me, I'd rather have you as my true best friend than my fake lover " he smiled, it was a smile that showed sadness.

" Lei I just- I'm really sorry. Can you let me go?" I said after stopping the car in front of his house.

" I will, I will try my best." he said as he walked to his house. Jungkook now moved to the passenger seat, the vehicle was quiet as hell.

" So, um y/n, I called you yesterday right? Did I say something I shouldn't have? " he asked as if he was scared.

" Um, no? You were pretty drunk, you just kept singing, that's all, don't worry" I assured him. He looked a little disappointed by my answer. I just shrugged it off as I slowly kept driving.

"oh okay, so how have you been?" he asked as if he was trying to dissipate the awkwardness.

" I'm fine jungkook, so did you meet anyone that caught your eye?" I smiled.

" Kind of, How about you? Well, except for lei." he asked me. I shook my head.

" I guess I'm not ready for anything" I continued driving.

" Well that's pretty good I guess, it's just been like 3 to 4 days, so understandable." he shrugged his shoulders.

" So how did you end up on a date with kylie? " I asked him.

" Jimin hyung asked taehyung hyung to set me up with someone from his office, so taehyung hyung kinda arranged a blind date." he answered.

" Oh, so that's how it was. I don't mind if you want to date her. " I felt kinda jealous but I said it to him.

" It's okay, I think she'd be better off without me." he said.

" Trust me jungkook, it's the opposite." I said, and realized my mistake too late.

" Oh? Is that so?" he raised his eyebrows and smiled playfully.

" Oh shut up, I'm embarrased now " I smiled at him.

" It's okay, I understand." he showed his bunny teeth.

" You know what? Let's all just be friends okay! It will be easier that way " I suggested.

" Sure, we can" he smiled widely.
