-Jasmine's POV-

The drive to San Francisco was great. We jammed out to great music, had lovely conversations, and got to know each other really well. Halfway through the drive, we decided to stop and get some lunch since we were starving. And then we were back on the road, until we reached the house we were going to be staying at.

"Here we are,"Niall said, pulling up in the driveway.

"Oh my god,"I breathed, looking through the car window at the giant house in front of us. It was absolutely beautiful, and looked like a resort.

Niall chuckled. "Welcome to our home for the next 3 days." He took our luggage out of the back of his car and took it up to the front steps. "I have the keys right here,"he mumbled, pulling them out of his pocket. He unlocked the front door and we walked in.

"Wow, it's so big,"I whispered, looking around. The house was beautifully decorated and just insanely big.

"Yeah, it's nice,"Niall said, starting to walk upstairs.

I followed him. "Big houses like this always scare me,"I laughed lightly.

Niall chuckled. "Don't worry, I'm here with ya."

We looked through some of the rooms to see where we would sleep.

"Here, you can take this room. It's the biggest, I think,"Niall said, walking into a room.

I followed him in. It was a giant room with a beautiful view. "You can have it... I don't mind taking a smaller one,"I said.

Niall shook his head. "It's fine. You take this one. There's one across the hall, I'll sleep there."

"Okay, thank you... But just let me know if you want to switch. I don't mind, honestly."

He laughed,"It's okay, Jas."

Niall brought our luggage upstairs and we got settled into our rooms before going down to the living room. We sat next to each other on one of the couches, looking outside through a massive window.

"I'm quite hungry. It's 4pm now, but should we just wait for dinner?"Niall asked.

I nodded. "Yeah, sure. I'm feeling okay."

Niall sighed, leaning back into the couch. "I guess I'll starve for a bit then,"he mumbled.

I laughed, throwing a pillow at him. "Stop being dramatic, Niall."

He hugged the pillow to his chest. "I'm really excited for the next two days,"he smiled at me.

I leaned my head on his shoulder. "Me too. I think it'll be really good for our friendship."

Niall sat up a bit. "While we wait for dinner time, can I play you a song I wrote for my second album?"

I took my head off his shoulder. "Yeah, of course."

Niall had brought his guitar on the trip, so he went to go grab it from his room upstairs. He grinned as he walked back down the stairs and sat beside me. "I wrote this one a while back... It's about an ex, kind of the only one I had after the hiatus was announced."

I watched him tune the guitar. "Hailee, right?"

"Yeah.. Let me know what you think. It's called 'Bend the Rules'."

I listened to him sing, and was amazed at his beautiful voice. It shocks me every time I hear it. But as I focused on the lyrics, I noticed what the song was about.

I'm not saying that you're lying
But you're leaving out the truth
And I'm not saying that you're guilty
'Cause I don't have any proof
Feeling like I'm going crazy
And I don't know what to do
'Cause on paper, you don't break them
But it hurts so bad the way you bend the rules
The way you bend the rules
