It was 4:30 am. I was laying in my bed. I had just gotten off of FaceTime with Millie. I told her everything that was happening. She listened. This City was playing in the background of my thoughts. I couldn't sleep. And I wasn't going to sleep.
This city's gonna break my heart.
The birds were starting to chirp ever so quietly.
This city's gonna love me then leave me alone.
The sun would be coming up soon, my favorite time of day.
This city's got me chasing stars.
It was always so quiet and peaceful. I was alone but felt so safe and comforted.
It's been a couple months since I felt like I'm home.
I got up threw on sweatpants and a sweatshirt.
This city's gonna break my heart.
I brushed my teeth grabbed my phone and wallet and headed out.
She's always gonna break your heart, oh...

I got my bike out and rode quickly to the beach, I didn't want to miss it. I didn't want to bring my phone, but I did just in case my mom texted me. I just listened to the wind hit the trees and the crickets. I arrived at the beach as it was just starting to lighten up. I sat in the sand. I went to a beach farther down where not many people go. It was just me. I finally stopped thinking about everything stressing me out. I was content with where I was. I was there for an hour. Just watching the sun. There was a couple walking along the shore. They looked happy. Really happy. Soon a family, definitely not a local, appeared. Then another. That was my cue. I rode my bike back home to a silent house. I couldn't go back to sleep so I texted Noah, asking if he wanted to get something to eat at 9 ish. I wasn't expecting an answer since it was only 6:30 am.
So I decided to get dressed instead. I had a nice place in mind for breakfast on the water so I dressed nicer than usually. I grabbed a dress, but to not be too fancy, I added some white sneakers.I brushed out my hair not adding any makeup because that's not my cup of tea before laying on my bed. I went on my phone then heard my phone ding. It was 8:15 when he replied saying he can.
A smile broke out on my face. I don't know I was so excited, I guess I just really really liked him.
No, I loved you.At 8:45 I walked downstairs to my family, minus my dad who was coming home tonight!! My dad and I had always been close, even though we didn't see each other much. We had a bond in which it didn't need much maintenance. We could not see each other in forever and talk like we saw each other yesterday. They say parents don't choose favorites, and don't get me wrong, they love us equally, but my mom always preferred Jack and my dad preferred me. It just happens to be that my mom is around more.
"Mom can you bring me to The Shore Side?" I ask. The Shore Side was one of the best places to eat, and prettiest.
"Yeah, what time?"
I was going to say a few minutes, but I don't think I can handle those few minutes of awkward silence.
"Now," I reply.
"Okay, just a second," she runs upstairs to grab some shoes.
I catch Jack glance at my wrist to see if I put on my bracelet and I look right over to the kitchen table where it lays. Untouched from the night before. I notice he wasn't wearing his. I thought maybe he might of had a change of heart since the discussion. He went back to texting on his phone while smiling. Probably the group chat I was kicked out of 😙💅
I pretended I was busy on my phone when really I was staring at a black screen. But this time was different. I noticed every flaw. Every thing that doesn't reach today's beauty standards. Before I got to deep in thought my mom came back with shoes and keys and we left the house.
"Be back soon Jack," my mom tells him before closing the door.We open the doors and sit in the car.
"You look nice," she compliments me.
"Thanks," I say with a slight smile.
"Are you meeting the boyfriend of yours?" She says smirking.
"He's a friend mom, but yes," I say a little annoyed. The rest of the car ride was quite. I leaned my head on the window like it is in all those movies. My mom tried bringing up last night, but I shut her down before it got to serious.
"I'm fine. It's fine. It's over." I tell her still looking out the window.
I watch the other cars zoom past us. My tiredness still hasn't kicked in.
We finally arrive at the place and I see Noah walking over to the host.
"Bye, love you," I say leaving the car.
I run to where Noah is and get put my hand on his shoulders while jumping up and saying hi.
He turns around, startled at first before smiling and giving a hug. That would of been very awkward if it wasn't Noah.
We make it to the hostess stand and tell them a table for two. I recognized the girl. She was a girl from my school, let's just say we didn't get along to will. She brings us to a table outside on the deck looking over the water.
"Here you are, enjoy!" She says smiling at Noah but giving me a glare. I give her a nice smile back.
We look over the menus and I give Noah the whole run down of what happened. We talk about it for a bit before ordering. I get pancakes and Noah gets eggs.
"Eggs?" I question him after our waitress leaves.
"Eggs are the best. One, they are easy to make. Two, you can make it into MANY different things. You can boil it, fry it, poach it, and you can scramble it. Three, eggs TASTE good every way you make them. Who doesn't love a good egg. Four, they are healthy too!" Noah exclaims with enthusiasm.
"Oh wow," I say a bit taken back about his passion for eggs.
"That's a good argument," I laugh.
"If you could be anything in the world, what you be?" I ask him a few moments later.
"Easy. And actor. One-" he starts.
"Hold up, let's not make this another big rant like the eggs," I cut him off.
"I'll try not too," he laughs.
"As I was saying, acting lets you be a completely different person. Experience a whole new life and view things from a whole different perspective. You get to play a role of someone who can be nothing like you. That's sick," he finishes.
"That's awesome. Acting so cool. But I could never," I say.
"How about this. We make a movie together." He says.
"Alright bet."
"By time we are both 30, we must have a movie out," Noah says.
"Sounds like a plan," I smile.
At the time, we really did think we were forever, we just never really said that out loud. But here I am now wishing I did. Maybe things would be different then they are.
Our breakfast comes and we eat it up.
"How's you eggs?"
"Delicious as always. And your pancakes?"
"Splendid," I say in a British accent.
We eat a bit making small talk here and there. I've always had a knack for thinking of thoughts no one actually cared about.
"Here me out,"
Noah looks up scared for what's coming next.
"What if when you have deja vu, it's your future self having nostalgia." I tell him.
A confused look fills his face.
"Your in to something," he says.
"You know when you think someone says your name, but no one did?" He asks.
I nod, curious of where this is going.
"What if it's someone from a parallel universe trying to get your attention?" He finishes.
"That's clever Schnapp," I tell him.
"Why thank you Grazer," Noah says.
We share a few more thoughts before paying the check. It was almost 11 when the ✨unthinkable✨ happened.
"What a bitch," I mumble.
"What?" Noah says before following my gaze.
"Holy guacamole and chips." He replies after seeing.
You guessed it. The losers, minus Sophia and Wyatt, came strolling in.
