❝ WHY THE HELL NOT? ❞🌂
After Poet's unusual panic attack, it was night and Five was nowhere to be seen with news. The two, Poet and Paris, were taking their usual stroll in the streets filled with a small handful of women while business men held briefcases in their arms and were heading home.
"Do you think Diego's alive?" Paris questioned, looking at his aunt who thought about the question. Poet chuckled and shrugged.
"I just think he probably got in trouble and is probably in jail," she honestly answered. "Wouldn't be surprised if he is detained somewhere, but then again, he can escape so..."
"Can you tell me what you think about this?" Paris mumbled, placing his hands inside his plaid pants. Poet hummed. "What's your honest opinion on me and Five?"
Poet sighed. "I...I don't know, babe. I'm trying to be an understanding aunt, I am. I mean, I don't mind that you're bisexual and if you like a girl or a boy. Love is love, isn't it?" He smiled a bit and nodded. "But, let's remember that Five was 58 before he time travelled back and became a 13-year-old again. His conscious is 58 while his body is 13 and I just think it's a bit... creepy? Like, he's actually 58!"
Paris listened and nodded, another sigh escaping his parted lips while eating the fries he had just gotten from the store across the street they were walking on. "I know... And I don't want to say anything because he's been hurt, Aunt Poet. He-he went back in time only to see his siblings and you dead, but I was alive and a year older than him. I was supposed to be dead."
Just as Poet opened her mouth to speak and comment, she and Paris could hear siren after siren echoing in the almost empty streets.
"What's going on?" Poet mumbled.
"Look."
Poet looked at where he was pointing and saw a television store showing current news. They ran across the street and watched the news with squinted eyes. They saw a mob of angry people and police officers assaulting black people. Poet felt anger and Paris turned around when he heard a thump and an alarm, the source of sound coming from a car.
"Allison?" Paris heard the woman question, leaving him to look away from the car and focus on the TV, and there, in fact, was Allison on TV. Before they could question anything more, the camera was covered with smoke and Allison was gone by the time the smoke vanished. "She's alive..."
"I know..." Clearly in shock about watching her friend on TV, alive, she didn't see what Paris saw. "Aunt Poet?"
"Hmm?"
