Trigger warning: plane crash
After school, Harin immediately went up to Seungjin, and asked him about the confession. "So, how did it go?"
"I had to reject another person," he sighed. "I know how you feel about me being single, but I'm really busy and I already like someone. I always feel guilty whenever I reject someone."
"Then, just tell me who it is!" Harin suggested to him. "I'll put in a good word for you. I always feel guilty when I have to hang out with the girls on the weekends, and Siwoo's not very flexible with his comic book buying times, so I think it would be great if you dated someone! Come on, if you don't want me to tell the person, then I won't! I promise!"
"I dunno about that," Seungjin sighed. "It's just that... it's weird talking about love of all things with you. We've known each other since forever, so stuff other than getting in trouble for trying to summon ghosts and going to karaoke is pretty awkward."
"Hmm, well I can't force it out of you," Harin shrugged. "Alrighty! Let's study for science class!"
Siwoo finally caught up to the two after talking with his other friends about the new fighting game that released that included an S class robot. "Hey, guys! Sorry I wasn't with you. So, are we heading to the library?"
"Yep!" Harin smiled. "Let's walk with Seungjin to the library! Mr. Johnson's awesome, I'm telling you, he doesn't really assign homework, so I'm already done."
Siwoo agreed. "He's awesome!"
Then suddenly, Seri caught up to the group. "Hey, everyone! I'm here now! Sorry, I was talking with the teacher about the class."
"I see!" Harin smiled. "Wanna come with us to the library? I'm going to English academy with Siwoo, but we're taking the long way instead of the shortcut."
"I'll walk with you guys," Seri said. "I'm going to help my little brother with his homework today, so I'm heading straight home. It's the academy near Cafe Honey, right?"
"Yep!" Siwoo nodded, as they crossed the road to get to the library. "So, like, how's the city?"
"Well, I did kind of live near this area," Seri admitted. "But it's kind of surprising, still. I don't really actually go into Seoul that much, and now I'm living in it!"
"Oh," Seungjin smiled. "I want to feel that kind of feeling someday. The feeling of seeing something new for the first time. We've all lived in Seoul for pretty much our entire lives."
Harin was reminded of something, "Oh, and, Seri! Have you gone to the Design Plaza?"
"I've always wanted to go," Seri laughed. "But it seems a bit too fancy for me. And it's really big. The most modern stuff I've had was the gifts that my cousin gives me, but they're not very fancy either... compared to the stuff a lot of people here wear."
"I see!" Harin understood. "Then I'll take you there myself! After that, I'll call up Miya and ask if she wants to come with us to karaoke!"
"Oh?" Seri was surprised. "Then, that will be fun!"
Crossing the library, they waved over at Seungjin and the three others kept on walking. Harin, excited about possibly getting another girl member of their friend group, almost totally ignored Siwoo until Seri went into her house.
Oddly, there wasn't anything to talk about between Siwoo and Harin, and it stayed that way throughout academy class. It was tiring, and then Harin would have to sit for another 2 hours studying Science. It was a little bit of a relief that Seungjin was moved to her class in Science academy.
It feels like yesterday that Harin was in first grade, begging her mom to put her in dance academy because her friends took ballet. She never thought she would get bored of academies ever, but now that she's been doing it for years, it's kind of tiring. Not very exhausting, because Hajoon probably goes through a lot at his academies. I mean, imagine not coming home until midnight pretty much everyday. The thought of high school was more scary than exciting, despite all the high school drama she watches.
She met up with Seungjin at the entrance of the academy after English classes ended. She asked, "I got extra allowance, wanna take the bus today?"
"Sure," he said. "I wonder what Mr. Lee will talk about today."
Harin laughed at him. "That's what you're gonna pay attention to? I wonder if I can sneak my phone in during class today."
Meanwhile, with Siwoo, he was walking back home and he came across such a weird figure upon walking into the building. From the other side of the door into the actual apartments, he could see a butterfly. Yes, butterflies did represent death, but it was odd that a blatant figure of death was before his eyes.
And it started to attack him. Although Siwoo was pushed back, he was determined to purify the soul so that it could flee from the human world. Since he couldn't do it himself, he summoned Shinbi.
"Hmm," he thought for a second. "Yeah, this one's the Butterfly Ghost. Be careful though, they usually attack with smaller butterflies."
Shinbi used magic in order to get rid of the butterflies, and left the rest up to Siwoo. And, at that moment, he could see the eyes of the sad creature open up a new story.
Flashback start:
"Sis!" a girl laughed. "I passed the audition, I did it! I did it!"
The older sister smiled at her. "See? I knew you would make it! Let me play one more song for you before you go, okay? And think about it whenever you feel down!"
"Okay!" she turned on the radio, and the song, Tobira wo Akete started playing. Unfortunately, this was the last time she would be happy, since on her plane ride to Korea, the plane crashed, and she died.
Flashback end.
"I was so beautiful, on the verge of death," the butterfly lady laughed. "It's clever, right? How I am supposed to be a butterfly."
After laughing, she gave in. "Ruin me like they did to me."
Siwoo argued as Shinbi prepared to attack once more. "We're not trying to ruin you, we're trying to make you better! So that you're ready to go out of here once and for all."
"Huh?!" the lady finally had realized the real reason why she needed to go. She was always told about her flaws, that she never knew the people who tried to banish her were trying to help her.
And the final attack defeated her.
Waving goodbye, "I'm sorry, I just wanted to be something again," she said with a more lighthearted tone as she descended to the sky, and Siwoo collected his first Ghost Orb. "Woah, it's glowing!"
"Yeah," Shinbi chuckled. "It's a Ghost Orb, and you can use the power from it when you're in danger!"
"Like, I can use it to bring my homework to school?" Siwoo asked. "You said danger."
"No, not like that!" Shinbi got a little frustrated with Siwoo. "Human children are so selfish."
Note: Sorry for the late chapter! I will update this story with two more chapters this week, one tomorrow after classes end, and back to the usual Wednesday chapter. Sorry about this. I'm really sleepy and it's past my bedtime. Anyway! The new Shinvatar update was cool, so I'll give this today!
