Ever since you found Oliver was The Green Arrow you barely slept at night, not until he came back to you and hugged you tight, letting you know he was alright. Sometimes that didn’t happen until the first lights came through the window so you spent so many times awake. You had tried to stay at the lair with Felicity and follow the mission but you couldn’t handle it.

You knew what you had with him was good. Too good. But you just couldn’t take it anymore. You couldn’t be in a relationship without knowing if that kiss would be the last one. It didn’t matter how proud you were of him for what he was doing, you loved him too watch him die. So you made the decision. The hardest one you had ever made. You knew this was going to hurt him, and you, badly but it would be the best thing for the both of you eventually.

That morning you woke up just to see that you had fallen asleep on the couch the night before. The fact that you were still there, meant that Oliver wasn’t home. Immediately, you tried to call him on his cell but he didn’t pick it up, just making your anxiety grow. Finally, you took a quick shower and got dressed before heading towards the lair.

When you stepped out of the elevator you saw the whole team gathered around one of the computers where Felicity worked. You were relieved when you saw Oliver there, safe and sound, but it only made your decision clearer.

“See if you can track him down with that…chip star shaped thing and let me know if you find something. I gotta go home to…” he turned as he talked, just to see you standing there, in front of the elevator. “(Y/N)” he finished the sentence.

A smile appeared on his face as everyone said hi to you, but you didn’t reply or smile back at your one year boyfriend. That moment, Oliver knew something was off. There was something missing in your expression and it was making him panic like he didn’t do, not even when he had someone aiming at his head with a weapon.

“Everything ok?” He asked when he was standing in front of you. His face now full of concern.

“We need to talk” was all you said.

Oliver gulped as you said those words. He wasn’t a fool. He knew that words never meant anything good.

“Ok…” he mumbled, searching your face for some kind of emotion that let him know that everything was ok.

“Do you want the room?” Diggle asked.

“No. We…we’re going home” Olive replied without taking his eyes off of you.

You two went back to the loft in silent. You didn’t have anything to say. He was there, safe and sound, after spending another night out as the Green Arrow. You didn’t know what he was up to at that moment and you were better off not knowing. When you stepped into the loft, he closed the door and you turned to look at him.

“Don’t do this” he said immediately.

“Don’t do what?” You asked.

“The way you look… I know you’re not going to tell me how much you love me” he said crossing his arms.

“You’re right” you sighed as you looked down at your feet, not knowing where to start. “Oliver, I don’t want to hurt you” you started talking. “But… you’re hurting me. Every night, every day you go out there I sit here not knowing if I will ever see you again alive. And it’s killing me” you said.

“You know what I do this” he frowned.

“I do, and I don’t want you to stop because you being the Green Arrow is one of the things I love about you. Still, I can’t. I don’t remember the last time I slept the whole night. I spend more time worrying about you than loving you and it’s too much”
