Liberty's P.O.V
Walking down the hallways at Midtown School of Science and Technology after yesterdays events felt, well, weird. Since we'd been announced to the public as 'The New Avengers' we were finally seeing just how powerful the Press were.
Everywhere we looked there was news on The New Avengers; headlines in every newspaper, new stories playing on every television we saw and what made everything even more strange was that every single person at school was talking about how the mighty avengers had entrusted the world in the hands of seven teenagers. That was, everyone was talking about it apart from us, we were just glad that the world didn't know about our real names.
"Right, so everyone is talking about us but they don't know its us and it's strange, is anyone else finding this strange?" Astrid spoke in hushed tones excitedly, I agreed.
"But we're under orders from Fury that we have to keep it that way, to keep everything as normal for us as possible," I reminded everyone, trying to act in the leadership role that I had apparently been appointed.
"Yeah, lets try to not do what dad decided to do" Penny giggled, making the rest of us laugh quietly, we'd all seen the infamous press footage of Uncle Tony revealing himself to the world as Ironman all those years ago, and especially we'd seen the chaos that ensued afterwards.
We sat together at lunchtime, trying our best to not listen to whatever gossip everyone was spreading about the new avengers. My stomach was churning and bubbling with nerves, I'd never been so on edge and on my guard in my life, I was so scared that somehow someone would figure out who we were, which was something we really didn't need to cope with right now. But then Oliver decided it would be a good idea to clumsily drop half of his lunch on himself whilst using his hand gestures whilst he recounted a story about something that happened at home. It was nice to see we hadn't changed all that much since the reveal.
The bell rang overhead signalling the end of lunchtime and we went our own separate ways, confirming that we'd all meet up outside school at the end of the day to go to our first training session as the official New Avengers together.
In Science class I sat across the room from Rebecca, who had her nose in her studies. It seemed like she had no idea about her family history, because from the stories I has heard about her supposed father, Loki the Norse God of Mischief, if she had known, she'd be causing chaos. That made my stomach settle a little bit more, hopefully it wouldn't be a problem further down the line.
Once my afternoon of lessons had finally come to an end, I met Peter outside my classroom and we walked outside school to meet the others. Fingers crossed that this training session went well, because if it went horrendously, I don't know what my plan is.
