Liberty's P.O.V

Back at school the next day, we were all the most exhausted we had ever been. After the very long training session, we were all so sore and tired that I was convinced we would definitely not be able to last a full day at school without one or all of us falling asleep.

I kept as close an eye on Becky as I was able to through my aching muscles and sleepy haze. She seemed just as she had been since she had joined our school, but I couldn't exactly tell whether that was a good thing or a bad thing to be entirely honest.

Once we had eventually trudged and yawned our ways through the school day up until the school bell rung to signal that it was lunchtime, we stumbled our collective ways to the lunch hall to eat and hopefully wake ourselves up a bit more.

"My legs hurt," Max complained, wincing as he sat down and began rubbing his legs lightly.

"But you didn't even use your legs much at training?" Hunter replied, trying his best to be sarcastic and funny through his own pain.

"Exactly Hunter, exactly..." Max replied making us all simultaneously chuckle and then recoil from our aching abdominals.

At that very moment, Becky entered the lunch hall and we made direct eye contact. She smiled and began walking towards the table we were sat at.

"Right, here's the plan," I started, leaning forward as much as my muscles would allow. "Becky is walking tiwards us and she's probably going to come and eat lunch with us, we need to be nice as usual and I'm going to invite her to come to have ice cream with us after school tonight," And before anyone had the opportunity to object to my idea, Becky sat down at the end of the table.

"Hi everyone," Becky smiled as she sat down and placed her lunch on the table in front of her. "How's everyone doing?"

"I'm in pain-" Max started complaining only to earn a light jab in the stomach from Hunter, we didn't need her asking questions.

"Aw no, why?!" Becky asked,

Great.

"Ermm..." Max tried to find something to say, we couldn't exactly explain to her that we were all in severe pain because we had been hardcore training with the Avengers, earth mightiest heroes, could we?

"He went to the gym last night after school with us and we are all a bit achy today," Penny jumped in to save him, "but we'll live," She shot Max a look that could've been weaponised if she tried hard enough.

I decided to take that as a chance to ask her my question.

"Hey, Becky, would you like to join some of us for ice cream after school? We like going to this ice cream parlour place that does milkshakes and loads of other stuff sometimes and I wanted to see if you wanted to join us tonight," I tried my hardest to sound as sincere as possible, I just needed to spend some time with her outside of school, I needed information without an interrogation.

As I waited for a reply, all I could think about was that the resemblance between her and Loki was uncanny. I had obviously only seen photographs of the Asgardian god of mischief from the times he has attacked Earth, but I could definitely see a possibility of her being related to him.

"Yeah sure! My mum is working late tonight anyway so I don't have to be home for anything in particular, sounds nice!" Becky replied, grinning hopefully.

"Great! Meet me outside by the bus stops at the end of the day, we'll wait for you." That was the answer I wanted to hear, and with that my plan was working even though I was the only one who had any idea what that plan was.

Lunchtime ended and we all went our separate ways to classes, and I felt a little less tired than before.
