Alexander decided after staring at the ceiling for a while, he would get some work done.

He didn't even notice the sun come up, or John getting up and saying hi.

"Alexander?"

Alex finally heard his roommate trying to talk to him and he turned in his chair.

"Hm?"

"You wanna come get breakfast with Hercules, Lafayette, some friends, and I?" John asked, standing by the door.

"But it's only-" Alex noticed the sunlight hitting the wall and sighed, nodding. "I need coffee, anyways."

At first, it was only Alex and John. John was telling the server a list, of what Alexander was guessing, his friends wanted. Alex finally was able to order his black coffee and a plate of 'hoe cakes'. He heard John snort and the waitress made a confused look. Alex pointed to the 'Johnnycakes' and the waitress made an "oh" face, before nodding and walking away.

"Hoe cakes? What are those?" John asked through a fit of giggles.

"Something that tastes good, you big child," Alex retorted, looking at the wall.

"Hey, Alex, don't be mad at me! You can at least find the waitress's face funny, right?" John said, placing a hand on Alex's shoulder. Alex flinched slightly at the touch, but he nodded, smiling softly. He looked at John, who had a worried look in his eye.

"Hey, you okay-"

"What time is it?!" They heard from across the café, noticing a certain tall man and a very tired Frenchman, in the door. John waved, shushing Hercules as he sat down. Lafayette plopped into the chair next to Hercules, cringing slightly as he did. John noticed and snorted.

"Did you two have fun last night?" John teased, making Lafayette red in the face. The normally very openly sexual Frenchman seemed to be highly embarrassed.

"Ferme-la, idiot," Lafayette hissed, leaning his head against Hercules's shoulder. "It's 'is fault, anyways."

"Hey, I said I was sorry," Hercules mumbled.

"Hey, keep your domestic quarrels for the dorm, alright?" John said, trying to lighten the mood.

"Qu'est-ce qui s'est passé?" Alexander asked Lafayette, who looked up and sighed.

"Frappe ma tête sur la tête de lit. Il a été Hercules est la faute de," Lafayette mumbled, making Alexander chuckle lightly.

"Tu vas bien?" Alex asked, chuckling and smirking.

"Je vais être bien," Lafayette responded, smiling softly.

"Man, now we don't get to hear fun secrets," John said, crossing his arms and leaning back in his seat.

"Shit sucks," Hercules mumbled. Lafayette smiled sweetly at Hercules and kissed his cheek.

"Do not worry. It was nothing bad," Lafayette reassured, hugging his boyfriend's arm. Hercules smiled.

"John Laurens, is that you?" Alexander looked up from his empty plate to see a group of three women.

"Angelica Schuyler! It is so good to see you!" John got up from his seat and quickly hugged the woman in front, who grinned and hugged back.

"Hello, John," a soft, sweet voice spoke, getting the next hug.

"Elizabeth Schuyler, still as beautiful as ever," John said, smiling at her. That comment made Alex cringe slightly, but he did not understand why.

"And Peggy!" the third woman said, grinning. John seemed the happiest to greet the third.

"Margarita Schuyler!" John announced, making 'Peggy' hit his stomach.

"That's Peggy to you, mister!" She said, laughing.

The next to hug the three women were Hercules and Lafayette, who the women gushed over, making Lafayette smile and Hercules blush deeply.

Alexander looked down at his empty plate. He once again didn't feel like he should be there.

"And, who's this?" the first woman asked as she and the other two sat down.

"Oh, this is my roommate-," John began.

Alex looked up and stuck out his hand.

"Alexander Hamilton," he said, his tone flat. Angelica shook his hand, then Elizabeth, then Peggy, all three woman looking a bit spooked by his tone.

Alexander settled his hands back in his lap and stared at the table.

As the group talked on, Alexander started to space out. Until his breakfast and coffee were set in front of him. He began to eat, quietly and slowly.

For some reason, his throat felt tight as he ate.

No one was talking to him.

No one even remembered he was there.

He suddenly ate very quickly, downed his coffee, and stood up.

By the time his head collided with table beside them and flipped, he realized he stood up too quickly.

"Oh, mon dieu! Alexandre, tu vas bien?!" he heard Lafayette say. He was suddenly being helped back into his chair. His mind was fuzzy.

People were staring.

Alex couldn't breathe.

His vision blurred slightly and tried to stand up again, but he felt someone push him back into the chair.

"Nuh-uh. You are not going anywhere, Mr. Hamilton," it was Angelica. "Your head is bleeding."

"'M...fine," Alex mumbled, but he didn't move. He felt something warm and wet press against the side of his head.

Then he heard other voices, asking if he could hear them, asking him all sorts of now jumbled questions.

Alex doesn't remember much after that.
