13. Insomnia

Laying in bed the night before their finals, Selene couldn't help but remember what coach Ukai told them about Shiratorizawa. Especially their team captain with a powerful spike, coach compared it to hers. Frustrated, a small ferret comes trotting up onto the females bed, laying on her stumic. Looking down, she stare back at their beady red eyes.

"Don't look at me like that, the dudes way more powerful than me! How am i supposed to get past him!" Selene argues.

The small creatures head titles as the female groans back into her pillow.

"Stop looking at me like thaaaat," Selene whined.

Clawing her way up, the small ferret began to lick the females cheek.

"How can you be so positive and supportive when you don't even talk," Selene stated, crossing her arms.

Suddenly, her phone buzzed from under her pillow. Pulling it out, she watches the small creature curl into her neck. Opening her messages up, it was from Kuroo.

"I'll be watching tomorrow, wishing you and Karasuno luck. We still have to have a proper game.

- Tetsurō Kuroo"

Sighing, Selene replies back with a simple thank you before another notification lights up her phone. Confused, she begins to read it.

"I know your awake, go to bed.

- Kōshi Sugawara"

"H-HOW- Stupid mom instincts..." Selene grumbles before replying.

"Not like you can make me and shouldn't you be sleeping?

- Selene Nicole"

Quickly, another message comes in.

"Don't turn this on me miss winged spiker, I know where you live >:)

- Kōshi Sugawara."

Chuckling, Selene begins to reply while biting her lip.

"Tough talk for someone who lives a mile down the road.

- Selene Nicole"

"Oh, you wanna bet.

- Kōshi Sugawara."

"Bet.

- Selene Nicole."

Selene laughs at their conversation before setting her phone down. A couple minutes later, a knock comes from her front door making the female sit up in surprise. This action sent the small creature onto her bed as Selene's eyes widen.

"No he fucking didn't," Selene gasps before jumping out of bed followed be the small ferret.

Speeding her way towards the front door, she looks through the small peep hole, seeing a huffing Sugawara. Startled, she rips the door open and stares down at his bent over form.

"K-Kōshi-kun... Did you really?" Suga cuts her off.

"Run all the way here... Yes," he replied.

"Sugawara! That's a whole ass mile!" Selene shouts in worry, dragging the said male into her home.

Suga began to slightly chuckle, catching his breath. Selene slightly blushes, listening to what was music to her ears. Sighing, Selene headed towards her kitchen as her ferret followed by climbing onto her foot.

"S-selene... Is that a ferret?" Suga questions, taking off his shoes.

"Yes, this is Eliza, she's an emotional support animal," Selene explains, going to start a pot of tea.

"You have a support animal? Why have I never seen her?" He questions, following Selene into the kitchen.

"Oh, well, I don't need her for the public stand point since everything happens in private..." Selene trails off as Elizabeth climbs up onto her shoulder.

Her red eyes stare back at Suga who slightly tilt his head at the creature.

"Your guys miss america isn't as strong as you think..." Selene adds, before putting her hand on the kettle to put water it in.

"Selene-kun..." Suga trails off, before putting his hand on the females to stop her actions.

Looking up, she locks eyes with his chocolate ones as he slowly guides the female away from the kitchen.

"I don't think you need tea this late at night," he slightly smiles, leading the female to her room.

What was she doing? Why was she letting this... Boy! Get to her feelings. No matter what he did, he just made her heart melt into a pile of mud. Why was he going out of his way to look after her? And why was she so open with her emotions with him? Conflicted, he sat down on her bed, dragging the female down with him.

"Suga-chan-"

Without warning, he began to lay down pulling the female right beside him.

"I'm gonna make sure our winged spiker is well rested for tomorrow," he states, keeping his hands to himself.

Sitting up, she looks down at him as he gives her a cheeky smile back. Annoyed, Selene playfully slaps his chest making him laugh in return.

"Stop being so damn cheesy, I have a name," she stated.

"Sorry, Selene-kun~" he teased.

Selene's face went bright red as she put her hand over his eyes. Another laugh left him as she looked away from him. Gently, Suga removes the females hand before doing a surprise attack. With a yelp, Suga sat up and wrapped his arms around the female before laying back down with a laugh.

"S-suga!" Selene called, flushed.

After a moment of laying there, Selene slowly began to wrap her arms around him. His grip slightly tightens as she nuzzles her head into his chest. He smelt of vanilla and rosemary. Before she knew it, the winged spiker had fallen asleep in her vice captains arms.

Fluttering her eyes open, Selene found herself in a empty bed... Reaching over for her phone, she spots a message from Suga.

"Good morning, I left before you woke up. See you at the bus! ^-^

- Kōshi Sugawara"

"So... It wasn't a dream... I really- slept in the same bed as my vice captain," the thought made the female blush intensely.

Laying her head back on her pillow, it still lingered of Sugawara. Gently, she gripped the pillow before shoving her face full into it.

"Shit... I got it bad," Selene admits with a blush.
