Kirishima sat in his bed, his head empty except for one person who keeps throwing himself back into his thoughts. The redhead gazed out the window, looking up at the full moon and the moonlight dimly lighting up Kirishima's room. He glanced at the empty pillow beside his as his heart filled with grief yet again.
His boyfriend, Bakugou, had died in a villain attack around a few months ago, and Kirishima had never felt so alone, so empty, so hopeless. Sure, he had his friends, but this was only their second year at UA, Katsuki's parents were devastated to hear this and Kirishima was broken.
He felt a breeze from the other side of his room and spun around. His windows were all shut and his door was also shut. There wasn't any wind tonight, yet he still felt the cold breeze.
He glanced around, looking for anything that could've caused it. His fan was turned off completely and there didn't seem to be anything moving in sight. Kirishima felt goosebumps rise from his skin and a familiar voice right beside his ear.
"I'm here."
Kirishima jumped from his spot and went over to the end of his bed. "Who's there?" he asked, holding his red dinosaur plush that Bakugou had bought for him in his arms.
"I'm here," the voice said again, still in the same spot Kirishima had left.
"Who?" the redhead frowned.
"You dunce. Shitty Hair, it's me."
Kirishima's heart stirred at the nickname. Kat? He cautiously approached the area where the sound was coming from and slowly reached out with his hand, grasping nothing but thin air.
"Kat..?" he breathed, not knowing if he should be happy Bakugou was here or creeped out.
Tears began to fall from Kirishima's eyes before he could blink them away. He missed Bakugou. He missed him a lot.
"Eiji," Bakugou's voice said softly. "I'm here."
Bakugou was here. He'll always be here for Kirishima.
"I'm always with you." Something slightly brushed Kirishima then the feeling disappeared, as sudden as it has come. Had the blonde tried to hug him? Kirishima reached out again, feeling around to see if he could touch Bakugou at all. He couldn't. In Bakugou's place was empty, chilly air.The redhead shakily lifted his hand and ran it through his hair.
"Rest, Eiji," Bakugou's voice came in a soft whisper. "I'll always be with you."
The little breeze that Bakugou had been faded away as Kirishima stared past at the wall. A knock came on the door and Kirishima dried his tears. He stumbled towards the door and saw a concerned face of a yellow haired boy.
"Kaminari?" Kirishima asked, pressing his thumb on one side of his nose and sniffing with the other, trying to clear his nostrils. "What are you doing here this late?"
"I was hungry," he shrugged. He narrowed his eyes. "I was walking by and heard something from your room, so I decided to check if you were okay. Sorry for eavesdropping."
Kirishima sighed. "It's okay."
"Are you okay?" Kaminari asked quietly.
A hand gently met Kirishima's cheek as another tear rolled down the redhead's face.
"Dude," Kaminari said. "You miss Bakugou, right?"
"Why the fuck wouldn't I?" Kirishima snapped. He closed his eyes and sighed. "Sorry man."
Kaminari slightly smiled and patted Kirishima on the back. "That wasn't very manly. C'mon, wanna get some food?"
Kirishima smiled and closed the door behind him, following Kaminari down to the common room.
