He hardened his arms, his heart thumping painfully against his chest.

"Ready?" Midoriya asked.

Iida nodded and lifted his head a little, looking at Kirishima. He nodded as he swallowed the lump that was starting to build up in his throat. Midoriya and Iida pushed off the wall, blasting towards the opening at an alarming speed. Kirishima's hardened arms crashed through the wall blocking them from the villains and they slid up Todoroki's ice ramp.

Kirishima turned his head, gazing down at the scene. Most of it was trashed at this point. He caught sight of a very familiar blonde that made his heart stir. His deep red eyes connected with Bakugo's as he reached his hand out, his heart beating painfully hard against his chest.

"Come!" Kirishima yelled in his loudest voice possible.

Bakugo stood still, staring into the sky. His eyebrows furrowed as he grit his teeth. I told damn Deku to not fucking come after me! He felt stressed, angered, that Deku still came to save him, along with two other people who looked like Iida and... The third person turned around, and everything in Bakugo's world stopped as his eyes widened, his eyebrows relaxing and his heart beating faster than ever. Kirishima.

A scream was heard beside him as Shigaraki closed in on him. Instinctively, he wanted to blast himself towards Kirishima. An explosion formed at his palm as he blasted off the ground, flung into the air by the force of the explosion. He flew past buildings and saw Kirishima's hand in reach. He blasted another explosion, desperate to create more momentum and go straight to Kirishima's hand and grab onto it, not letting go and holding on forever.

Bakugo rarely tried to physically touch anyone, apart from training, he never even let anyone help him, let alone take someone's hand. But Bakugo trusted Kirishima enough, liked him enough, to reach for his hand without hesitation. He looked into Kirishima's eyes again, the small red dots kind of calming his nerves as he held onto his firm grip.

Bakugo's emotions spilled out and he couldn't hold back a grin. He gave Kirishima's hand a little squeeze.

"You stupid or something?" he choked out, his eyes glistening. He'd never been so relieved to see Kirishima's shitty hair in his entire life. He held on as they flew past more buildings and could feel his hand get sweaty. Embarrassment, guilt, relief. Emotions surged through the blond's body until Iida spoke.

"Bakugo! On my mark, create a blast-"

"You match my mark!" Bakugo interrupted.

"Don't fight at a time like this!" Kirishima's reassuring voice floated above everything. Bakugo's heart raced as he created a huge explosion, boosting them forward. Kirishima looked back at Bakugo, his huge toothy grin not leaving his face as they made eye contact again, and the tip of Bakugo's lip curved up in a smile as they landed.

Midoriya was on the phone with Todoroki as Kirishima stood beside him, panting.

"Good, we're in front of the station," Midoriya spoke into the phone. "Looks like we're out of range of that shockwave. Our recovery was successful!"

"Listen. You didn't rescue me, okay?" Bakugo intercepted, glaring at the screen. "You all just happened to be the best escape route."

Kirishima smiled and gave him a thumbs up. "Nice decision!"

That smile. That smile will be the death of me.

Bakugou glanced at Midoriya, who was crying his eyes out. At that moment, he didn't feel entirely hateful towards the sobbing broccoli.

"Anyway, let's move. We have to tell the heroes about Bakugou, right?" Kirishima told them as he reached over to hold Bakugou's hand (again).

What the fuck is Shitty Hair doing? Bakugou pushed his hand away and walked away. I love you but this isn't the fucking time. He scowled at the redhead and he shrugged, continuing his sentence with a cute ass look plastered to his beautiful fucking face.

"Bakugou," Kirishima said as they walked behind the rescue group.

"What?"

"I've been thinking about this for a while," he said thoughtfully. "When we were planning on how to rescue you... Midoriya said something."

Kirishima paused and Bakugou grew impatient. "What the fuck did damn Deku say?"

The green haired boy turned around, his eyes rounding with confusion. "Huh?"

"Nothing," Kirishima said. "Sorry." He turned back to Bakugoou. "'It has to be you.'"

"What the fuck?"

"Midoriya said that to me. The rescue wouldn't have worked without me or something," Kirishima said, flustered. "Sorry."

There was visible confusion in Bakugou's eyes when Kirishima looked in them.

"By 'it has to be you'," Bakugou started. "You mean.. you're the only person that could fulfil the role as my partner?"

Kirishima stopped in his tracks, his face turning into a deep shade of red. "W-what? No!" he laughed it off as the others in front turned to face them.

"What's wrong?" Yaoyorozu asked.

"N-nothing!" Kirishima said quickly as he rubbed his head. The others turned and kept walking and Kirishima stole a glance from Bakugou. The blonde's face seemed a little red, but that must've just been Kirishima's imagination.

The redhead looked around them, seeing people crying in relief over All Might's win and some cheering. He felt something brush against his hand and looked down. His heart skipped a beat when he saw Bakugou's fingers intertwining his own.

"B-Baku-"

The blonde silenced him by placing his lips on his. Kirishima's eyes slowly closed as he melted into the kiss, grabbing Bakugou's neck gently.

"Yeah," Bakugou said as he pulled away. "You are the only person that could fulfil the role as my partner."
