Lucky's POV

Zeke left the following day and I had been discharged with instructions to return tomorrow to have the implant turned on. Eva was waiting for me and she has been in an odd mood every since Zeke left. My wolf has been depressed but we understand why he needed to leave.

As we entered the castle Weston was there with a letter for me from Zeke. I instantly opened it and read it.

My darling Lucky,

I know it has only been a day but I already miss you. I am sorry I won't be there tomorrow to watch you hear for the first time but I am so proud of how strong you are. We made it to the Desert Pack late last night. Its so hot here and I swear there is sand everywhere. We have a meeting with Alpha Roger later and hopefully we can get more information on Tara. I wish you the best and we are one step closer to me coming back. I miss you.

Always yours,
Ezekiel

Although it was short it was still sweet and made my chest swell with happiness and pride. Eva read it afterwords and she seemed to become more angry. She stormed away with Weston giving me an apologetic smile before following after her.

The following day Eva came with me to my appointment. I was scared as there was a chance of it not working. Eva kept reassuring me everything would be fine but that little voice kept whispering something was wrong.

The doctor came in and explained everything before he hooked everything up and turned it on. At first there was an intense ringing that caused me to flinch. After a few seconds the ringing stopped and Eva was looking at me and her mouth was moving.

"Lucky? Lucky are you alright?" She asked voice full of worry and concern.

I gasped as tears filled my eyes. I began nodding my head as her face went from worry to shock. "Lucky c-can you hear me?"

I began nodding my head as more tears came and a sob escaped my lips. She smiled broadly and hugged me tightly. The doctor ran a few more tests before telling me how to use the implant as well as remove the outer piece when I need to shower.

We received another letter that night that was even shorter. He hoped my hearing returned and that when he got back I would be able to hear his voice for the first time. They had a lead and were heading off into rogue territory. He wouldn't be able to send word for a while but promised to write as soon as he could.

My wolf instantly became anxious and worried as did I. Eva punched a whole in the wall causing me to jump.

"That stupid selfish bastard! That's it West I'm going to find him and help. He has no idea what they are up against in rogue territory." She said as she went to storm away before Weston grabbed her arm.

"No Angel! I'm not losing you to them again. You are the queen now and I cannot let you go off into danger. Besides we have been mating every night, you could be pregnant. Do you want to endanger not only yourself but our people and possibly our child?" He snapped and I had never seen him so angry.

Eva still did not waiver until her face softened and she placed her hand on his cheek. "It was not your fault what happened to me West. I was doing my job, I will always be a warrior at heart a crown only changes my appearance and title not who I truly am. But for you I will stay. I know I'm not pregnant yet, trust me my wolf would not allow me to leave your side if I was."

As soon as Weston let his guard down she wrapped her arms around him and kissed him passionately. I felt like I was intruding especially when she pulled back. "I love you Weston."

Before I knew it he hit the ground unconscious. I stared shocked as Eva walked away and towards me. "Let's go we have about an hour head start."

I gapped like a fish unsure of what to do. She paused and looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "What are you waiting for? I know you want to come now go pack a bag of essentials only and meet me back here in ten."
