Chapter 14

Zeke's POV

After that night Lucky and I completed the bond things had been looking up. She was much more affectionate and her nightmares seemed to lessen significantly. She had become insatiable and I would find her waiting every night for me and other times she would surprise me in the office or a random closet in the pack house.

I was definitely not complaining as I was just as lustful I was slightly better at hiding it. Although I would constantly find myself touching her in any way whenever she was near. Before we knew it three months had flown by and Lucky had hardly had a bad day. I was in my office missing her but I looked at the time and knew she would be either out for a run or in the garden. She loved being outside and unless it was severe weather she would always be out there at least once a day.

I had just gotten up and walked to the window when a mind-link came across causing my wolf and I to panic.

Feral Rogue at the west border. One of my border patrols shouted causing the entire pack to become alarmed.

I was panicking because that is where Lucky loved to run as there was a pond and a field of wild flowers. I tugged on our link to see she had me blocked and I knew something was wrong. Without wasting a second I shifted and launched out the two story window.

I took off fast and hard towards Lucky's scent. I only became more panicked when I heard growls and smelled not only Lucky but one of my packs pups. As I broke through the treeline I saw Lucky protecting the injured pup against a massive feral.

She had sustained several injuries but was still holding her own while protecting the pup. Without wasting a second I jumped in and tackled the feral midair from attacking Lucky.

He fought hard but I fought harder and in a matter of minutes I had ripped his throat out just as the warriors arrived. My wolf whined as he went over and began liking and cleaning Lucky's wounds. Her wolf nuzzled mine as the warriors took the pup to the infirmary and left us some clothes to put on once we shifted.

As soon as I got the shorts on I was over checking on her wounds. I finally breathed a sigh of relief seeing that they were healing and weren't as bad as they looked. I finally place my hands on her face as she leaned into my touch.

"I was so worried when I heard a feral rogue had got past the border patrol." I told her and she looked at me with those big green doe eyes.

"I was too because I had smelled that pup right before it came through and then heard her scream. I'm sorry I did not link you and blocked our bond. I was so focused and keeping the pup and myself safe I..." She began but I silenced her by placing my lips on hers.

I pulled back and rested my forehead on hers. "It's okay I understand but just try and send me a message next time before you run into danger." I teased causing her to giggle and not her head.

That night Lucky woke up panting and sweating. I thought she had had another nightmare but she refused to talk about it. What ever it was clearly had shaken her but she blocked me from seeing it.

Over the next few days she had grown more and more affectionate and if it wasn't for us being Alpha and Luna we probably wouldn't have left the bedroom. I was baffled by her sudden change as it seemed she became a whole new person overnight. She laughed more, smiled more, and had just seemed overall more happy.

Another three weeks passed by quickly and I had become busy with the details for the upcoming Alpha conference that I hardly saw her except when I went to sleep. She would occasionally bring me lunch and dinner but I failed to notice the change.

The day I left for the conference I did not want to leave her. My wolf was even hesitant and wanted to stay by his mates side. She was still the same and happy person she had been and even urged us to go. Not thinking anything of it I left for the two day conference.

When I got to the castle Eva greeted me first as she had started to round with her pup. She was about 4 months in and I could already tell her pup was going to be trouble. She looked 9 months pregnant but still had two more months to go. She was excited but was said Lucky couldn't attend.

The conference went on as usual Alphas bickering over stupid little shit and Weston and I had to be the mediators. We still had four hours left of the last meeting when Eva rushed into the room. Both Weston and I were concerned as she looked worried.

"Zeke what the hell?!" She shouted causing me to flinch. "Everyone has been trying to link you for over twenty minutes! Lucky collapsed and is in the infirmary."

At those words I was out the door shifting and racing back. I didn't spare a second for details but just knew she needed me. I made it back in half an hour racing full speed as I burst through the doors of the infirmary. I quickly shifted and grabbed a pair of pants before the nurses led me to where she was.

I was shocked that she was sobbing as the doctor talked to her and instantly wrapped her in my arms. "Shh, darling its okay I'm here."

What shocked me even more was when she laughed causing me to pull back and look at her like she was crazy. Once she explained everything I could only sit there in shock. "These aren't sad tears Zeke they are happy tears. Remember a few weeks ago when you thought I had a nightmare?" She asked and I nodded still confused.

"It wasn't a nightmare, the Moon Goddess came to me that night. She explained how sorry she was for everything that had happened and wanted to give me, well us a gift. She explained that because I was so selfless and had always put others before me even after all of what I went through she wanted to help rewrite some of the wrongs done to me. She basically made it so I will not have any fear or negative feelings about my past that will hinder my present other than a few nightmares here and there. She also gave me another gift that only lasted for two days."

When she explained this I was even more confused until she gave me this small black and white picture. I looked at it confused until I realized what I was seeing. "Y-you're pregnant? We are having a baby?" I asked shocked and she laughed and shook her head.

"No Zeke we are having two babies, twins." She said as she unfolded the picture revealing three more that showed another baby and then the two together.

I was so happy and excited I instantly smashed my lips onto hers for a deep passionate kiss. Things would have gone further if the doctor didn't clear his throat.

"I must advise a few things before I leave you to finish where you left off. Firstly we need Lucky to increase her diet and take supplements as these two have already started to drain her hence why she collapsed. Also I would like her back every two weeks to make sure things are staying good as we never expected her to be able to conceive with the damage that was done." We both nodded as he continued his instructions of the do's and don't's.

Once he was gone I instantly picked her up causing her to giggle as I ran her up to our room and made love to her all day and all night.

The next five months were a whirlwind of doctors appointments, morning (well all day) sickness and watching Lucky grow carrying our two pups. We opted to wait until they were born to find out the sex since they were a surprise. Lucky insisted they were both boys but I was hoping for one of each.

At exactly five months and ten days Lucky went into labor. Frankly the doctors were shocked she lasted that long as twins are always born at least a month early.

Her labor was intense and after eight grueling hours the first twin was out. A healthy baby boy weighing 8lbs 3oz. Another hour later and the second made his arrival, another boy 7lbs 12oz.

They were both perfect and healthy, we decided to name them Ares and Apollo. Apollo was the first born and had my red eyes with Lucky's black hair where as Ares was the opposite with my silver hair and her green eyes.

As I looked at my sons and my mate I couldn't help but think of how perfect our little family was. Hopefully we would never hear of any more evil again.
