Violet POV
You know how on New Year's almost everyone likes to tell themselves New Year near me? This was the approach I was going for for my new school year at Prufrock Preparatory. It's not like I did anything bad or drastic that made me hate the year before, but every one has flaws. And everyone has to start over at one point in their lives."Can I tell you about the book I'm reading?" Klaus asked.
Klaus was a readaholic. He also was my younger brother that would be starting a new year at school with me. Klaus was very intelligent because he knew so many facts that he had read. Stuff like this ranged from Farm Attire to Algorithms for Solving Rubix Cubes. He knew so much and was always in the process of learning more.
"Go right ahead." I said.
"This book is a based off of Elizabeth Knipe's work! You know who she is, right?" Klaus said eager for my answer.
"I didn't but if I were to guess, she's probably a writer."
"Correct!" Klaus exclaimed. "In the passage I'm reading is of her explaining that if she was to climb a mountain and put the egg at the top of it, all the possibilities that could come from that."
"Possibilities? But it's only an egg." I said.
"Yes! And I'm going to list all of them to you right now!" Klaus said.
"Oh boy..." I muttered. I hope this wouldn't take too long.
Klaus cleared his throat.
"The egg could become unstable and be knocked over by the wind and roll down the slope hitting a ledge or some sharp thing that makes the yolk escape it's shell."
"That seems very likely, but I don't understand how there are many more ways then that or why that's such amazing literature." I said.
Klaus continued.
"Or maybe it didn't find a ledge and rolled all the way down to the bottom. The egg at the bottom might stop moving from being on flat land for such a great time, and be run over by a reckless driver."
"Why does any of this matter?" I said getting annoyed.
"Let me Finish for Christ's sake." Klaus responded. I let him do so.
"Maybe when the egg was rolling it was in a mountain with an abundance of snow, and created an avalanche on the way down. If this happened, I would become a killer of many people and would always live in fear of being locked away for my wrong doings.
Perhaps this egg never did get off balance and had been snatched by a vulture instead. Possibly if that vulture did not come, another person may find this egg at the top of the peak and think it was a miracle. The egg would be worshipped and I would live knowing I started The 'Egg Against Humanity Movement."
