Chapter 2

I was passing by the graveyard. I checked the time. It was 9:32 am. I sighed and decided to just skip school. I don't feel like getting yelled at by Mr. Tanner again! Even if I get grounded. I sat by my parents grave. "Hey mom. Hey Dad. I miss you guys, even if you didn't really acknowledge my existence!" I said laughing. "Um Jeremy hasn't been doing very well. He started doing drugs. He's an ass, but when you spend 17 years with him you know who he really is. Elena pretends that everything is ok, just like me! She acts happy and I- I act like bitch!" My eyes started watering. "Elena still hates me! I still don't know why. Jeremy and Bonnie are really the only ones that don't hate me. Jenna cares about me but she doesn't really talk to me. I mean I-" I stopped talking when I heard a twig snap. I wiped a year off of my cheek. "Elena?"

"No. I have no idea who Elena is." He said.

I turned around. He had bright blue eyes and black hair. He was wearing a leather jacket and he had a concerned look on his face.

"Are you ok? I was visiting here and I heard you talking."

"Oh yeah! I'm- it's just family drama!"

"I hope you don't think this is weird- well of course you do, but I swear I just came over to see if you were ok."

I smiled a bit. "Yeah, yeah it's fine really." I turned back around. I jumped when I felt his hand on my shoulder. He had sat down next to me.

"What happened? If you don't mind me asked?"

"Um well, last year, my sister Elena, went to a bonfire for school. She called my mom to ask her to come pick her up, boyfriend drama, and when we were driving home from the bonfire the next thing I know the car in the water. Me and Elena somehow got out but our parents didn't."

"Oh wow. I'm so sorry"

"It's um, it's fine."

"You don't seem fine."

"Don't worry about me."

"I'm Damon by the way"

"I'm uh, I'm Brianna." I turned my head to look at him and we made eyes contact. My face flushed and I looked away.

"Shouldn't you be in school?"

I laughed. "Yeah but my sister ditched me again."

"She ditched you? Again?"

"She tends to leave the house without me, causing my to be very late. This is the 5th time it's happened so I just decided to skip school just to make her angry!"

"Well in that case," he stood up and put his hand out for me to take it, "Come on."

"Thanks but I don't feel like facing the wrath of my teacher."

"I wasn't going to take you to school."

"I think I'm old enough to know not to follow strangers to their cars. You know the whole 'stranger danger!' thing."

"Come on it'll be fun"

I didn't say anything.

"I will have you back by... what time does your school end?"

"3:35"

"By 3:35! Plus it's a good way to piss of your sister."

I hesitated but then I smiled and took his hand. I know, I know, he is a stranger! Don't follow strangers to their car. But I need a distraction. Plus I honestly wouldn't care if he kidnaps me. I could use a break from my family.

"Wow." His car was my dream car. "This is your car."

"Yep." He got into the drivers seat after in got into the passengers seat.

"It's amazing!"

He smiled.

"So where are we going?" He started the car and started driving.

"Well there is this beautiful park that no one knows about."

"Sounds good to me!"
