As a celebration here is another chapter.

Alex POV:

After showing them around and dropping them back at the Hotel, I went straight back to my apartment.

I was calm till now, but I started talking out loud as I entered my apartment.

"Jenni maybe close friend, but she had no right to judge my affairs with my family. I have every right to do whatever the fuck I want with Max. It's between me and Max. Just because Jennifer had that weird moment with James doesn't mean I have to go stir things up with Max just to do right by him. I may have done some not so sensitive things to Max back when I was a young but it was past, those things don't currently affect Max. We both have no effect on each other's lives anymore, he went one way I went another and it's not like we miss each other so no good will come other of us meeting."

I have started undressing by now.

"And he didn't even do the one obvious fucking thing he was supposed to do. No one said it, but obviously, dad adopted Max so he can have his precious father-son moments with him, he even trained him, taught his running, swimming, basic combat skills, shooting guns and God know what else, so he can follow his footsteps in serving the country. I wanted to be taught all those things, but no, Alex was supposed to stay home and learn cooking because Alex is a girl. And guess who learned all that on her own, guess what who followed through on dad's dream,"

I was now standing in front of the mirror,

"You, Alex, it was you not Max. He wanted to be a scientist, he took up chemistry, and you Alex went on to become the Special Agent Of Federal Bureau Of Fucking Investigation.", I took a deep breath.

I love my parents and they love me in their own way and I know that. I never saw dad happier in his life when I told him I am going to be a special agent, he called me up to his room and gave me his grandfather's handgun and told me how proud he is. But they never once said a single thing to Max that it should have been him graduating from Quantico, no no no he is still being loved like he has done nothing."

I should go rest, I was about to be appointed to a joint case with DEA. I went to sleep and intentionally never gave it another thought.

(One week before Alex visited Max)

My car broke down and I was taking a subway ride to work. Being a New Yorker, I should be used to using the subway, but I like riding my car. I was sandwiched between two women; I was uncomfortable, as I tried to get away my wondering eyes caught a familiar face in the troops of casual New Yorkers. It was Max. I wiggled back so Max couldn't see me. There he was, standing with his head buried in a book which he held in his one hand and was holding on to a sidebar with his other hand.

What am I supposed to do if he sees me and comes over? Would he want to come over if he sees me or would he just ignore me? These questions were making me nervous. Jennifer's words came flooding to my mind they made me even more nervous.

"I bet you if you went to him and talk a decent talk, he would jump at the opportunity to make things right like a normal human being, not bit your head off like someone who is just waiting for a chance to get back at you."

I was so nervous that I almost confronted him, but Jennifer's next words stopped me.

"Before you actually go to him, try to remember all the things we have done to him and all the things you have personally said to him and put yourself in his shoes, should he give you a chance to make things right?"
