“There! You're done Max” said Keith who finished grooming his horse. The horse neighed in satisfaction.

He then turns to leave. As he walks, he spots an unfamiliar black horse. He calls the nearest stable boy.

“Tell me boy, who does this horse belong to?”

“ Jonathan asked Dylan to bring this horse here Your Highness. ”

“Jonathan brought this horse?” Keith asked, his eyebrow raised.

“Yes your highness.”

“Okay.” he pats the boy's shoulders and went out.

*Where did Jonathan get a horse from? I have to ask him.*

He went inside the castle. The sun rays were slanting down the huge windows making it airy. There were maids and soldiers bustling around, making the castle alive.

“Keith! There you are!”

He turned to the familiar voice calling him.

“Mother!”

A woman probably in her late 40s,  brown hair that reached her waist, fair skin, hazel eyes that show warmth, love and kindness. She was wearing a blue day dress. Oh how she loved comfortable clothes! She would wear gowns only during parties and balls or any important meetings. She was kind to everyone and they all loved her.

“Keith where were you all day?” she asks her eyebrows raised as he looped her hand along his.
“I was in town.” he said looking at her. She was a little shorter than him. He laughed in his head, remembering the times when he was a child, afraid of his mother and as he grew how it all decreased little by little. But still he was afraid. He wouldn't show it, but he was.

“Did you have lunch?”

“Yes mother.”he gulped.

“Look at me and tell it again.” she said her hazel eyes staring at his. His mother knew when a person tells the truth and when he lies. He doesn't know how,but she can see through anyone's head.

He broke the stare and hung his head.“No”

“Well my son, I hope you know that you cannot lie to me.— she smirked in victory— now you my reckless son will go and change into much comfortable clothes and come down for dinner. Got it? ”

“Yes mother.”

“Good!” she claps her hands. “Now I must find your dear father before he forgets to eat his dinner.” she tells laughing and walks away.

Keith laughs. His mother always makes sure her family is there for dinner. Everyone. His father the king becomes too busy that the would sometimes forget to eat dinner. So mother always has to get him for dinner. His mother takes care of his family. He wouldn't know what he would do without her.

He sighs and climbs the stairs, looking at the bright chandeliers being lit and the maids dusting all the portraits on the walls. His mother wanted the palace cleaned completely. In a month, a ball was being held for him to choose a wife.

He pushed open a door and entered his sitting room, which was themed with blue and golden, with soft cushions and a love seat and a table set with fruits and water. He plopped down on the loveseat, only to hear a  familiar voice booming behind him.
