“Bea! Wake up!”

“Huh?”

She opened her eyes to see her mother, concerned.

“Mother?”

Bea tries to sit up, but she finds it hard. She then realizes her hands are tied.

“Bea you're awake!” Bryan exclaims.

She looks at her brother.

“How did I end up here? What happened?”

“You were about to open fathers rope when one of Alistair's men hit you in the head! You've been unconscious since.”

“How long?”

“Four hours I guess. The sun has risen.”

Bea grimaced.

*What do I do now?*

“I'm so sorry Darling, I am powerless. I couldn't even protect my family! I'm a useless father. Please forgive me.”

“Father! It is not your fault. Please don't blame yourself. You are the best father. I'm sorry I couldn't come on time. A lot has happened and I have to tell you all about it. I—”

“They're coming.”

“Who?”

“Alistair and his men.”

The door suddenly bursted open, Alistair and his men entering.

*Speak of the devil.*

“Bea, darling! You have finally come home!” he goes to hug her, but she backs away.

“Don't touch me!” she spits back.

He crouches down before her. He grips her chin hard.

“You have caused a lot of trouble for me dear. There were many nights I couldn't sleep without you here.” he pouts.

“Back off! All you want is the kingdom you greedy monster!” she spits at his face. “And you will never get it!”

He laughs, wiping his face. He sighs.

“I want to make it easy for you and your family dear. Why don't you just marry me?”

“Never.”

“Fine! Lets do it the hard way then.” he stands up.

“Guards!!”

One of them suddenly grabs Bryan and cuts his cheek.

“No! Bryan!” Bea struggles with the rope.

“It is of no use dear. The rope is magical. It wont get cut easily and magic doesn't work when you're tied. It is still in production. More is to come. I won't hurt your brother if you just marry me. Why don't you just give up?”

“No Bea don't give up! Don't listen to him!” Bryan screams.

“Oh really! You'll listen to me or…..” the guard cuts Bryan's forearm. It bleeds badly.

“Fine! Just don't hurt my brother!!” Bea cries out, unable to see it. There is a sudden urge to vomit but she pushes it down.

The guard pushes Bryan to the ground.

“Bryan!” mother screams, looking at her son in horror.

“Do something! He's dying!! Alistair!” father screams.

“Bea?” Alistair smirks.

“Fine! Leave my family alone! Heal my brother first!! I'll marry you!!” she pleads.
