CHAPTER VEINTE TRES

It's been almost
two months since
the break up, we
talked a couple of
times but nothing
special.

"Want to turn some
tv on?" Chris
questions looking
over at me as we
cuddle in my bed.

Chris and I aren't
boyfriend/girlfriend
or anything yet
we've just gone
on a couple of
dates. He's really
helping me move
on from Charli.

"Sure even though
television has been
dry as fuck
recently." I shrug
with a chuckle.

"You right, I'll just
turn on
ridiculousness even
though I've seen
like every episode."
he replies.

We chill watching tv
for a few minutes
while I'm lost in my
thoughts per usual.

"Okay but for real
we need to get
you out of this
house and out of
your thoughts."
Chris states sitting
up seeming a little
bothered by my
silence.

"I know I know,
how bout we do
something fun
like roller skate."
I suggest, sitting
up as well.

"I suck at roller
skating but let's go
for it I guess." He
chuckles lightly.

seven and a ten
please." I ask
handing the guy
our shoe tickets.

While I was getting
our skates Chris
was opening a
locker for our stuff.

"This is going to be
so embarrassing."
Chris chuckles
making a face.

"I doubt you're that
bad, at least I'll be
a good teacher." I
smirk.

"Are you sure
about that?" Chris
teases as the both
of us get up to
head over to the
rank.

Then out of the
corner of my eye
I see what looks
like Charli, Dixie,
Madi, and Avani
walking in.

"You seeing what
I'm seeing?" I
question Chris
with a nervous
laugh.

"Maybe they won't
notice us." Chris
shrugs before
continuing, "plus it
doesn't even
matter if she sees
us."

"You right, people
break up, it's
natural." I agree,
already feeling
calmer.

As we skate
around Chris keeps
tripping and almost
falling, but it's cute.

Holding his hand
while we skate
kind of sends
butterflies through
my body.

"I feel like all
these fast mother
fuckers are about
to run into me."
Chris chuckles,
still warming up
to the whole
skating.

"It'll be me if you
don't learn faster."
I tease sticking my
tongue out like a
child and skating
away playfully.

"Ryann?" A voice
questions from
behind her. 

"Uh hey Charli,
it's been a
minute." I reply
awkwardly and
kind of nervously.

"Yeah it has, and
you're here with
Chris I see. Are
you two a thing?"
Charli asks.

"You are hanging
out with hoodie,
what about it?" I
state accidentally
sounding rude.

"This isn't about
me, I was just
curious damn."
She shakes her
head.

Skating over to
us Chris asks,
"What's going on
here?"

"Nothing, we were
just saying hi." I
answer, only half
lying.

Charli nods before
going back with
her friends to
probably mention
me.

"Charli is so not
over you yet, it's
obvious." Chris
states with a
chuckle seeming
unfazed.

"Well I'm clearly
over her." I reply
sternly kind of
feeling like I'm still
trying to convince
myself of that.

I really tried my
best to get over her
but it's kind of hard
when you see her
everywhere.
