*At Horse Ranch*

*Katie is brushing Sable. After few months of knowing each other they've bonded really well. The foal has grown so much bigger and stronger but according to the vet is stunted a bit in growth and is the size of an 8 month old at 11 months old but will be fully grown by adulthood*

*After putting the brush up she feeds her some apple slices for being so patient. She over hears some girls talking about a riding competition and gets curious about the details*

Hey um..can you tell me about this riding competition please? I'm new to horse ownership and I was wondering if I could enter

*A blonde girl who seems to be the ringleader of the five teens just starts laughing*

Sabrina: You're a child. You don't even belong here. Why would you be trusted to be in a competition? Your horse is too small

Katie: She's a little behind on growth but the vet said she's perfectly healthy. Just tell me about the competition please

Sabrina: It's a competition that happens every year. We all show what our horses can do. Like jumping and running around barrels.

Katie: Cool. I think Sable can do that

Sabrina: You sure you can handle it?

Katie: Yeah of course

Sabrina: You're just a kid

Katie: So are you

Sabrina: I'm a (dramatic) woman *Flips her hair and does a pose*

*Katie rolls her eyes and just rubs Sable's nose* We can do this girl. We can do this

Sabrina: We're experts. You don't have a chance of winning with your so called "winner in training" she's gonna fail the first event

Katie: I think she's gonna do great and that you shouldn't judge her on her size. Just cuz she's small for her age doesn't mean she's useless. She can do anything your horse can do and we're gonna win the horse competition

Sabrina: Brave words but I don't care. You're a loser and your horse is stupid! *Shoves her down to the ground. Sable rears up and snorts loudly at her*

*The horse ranch owner comes over* Sabrina I just saw what you did and this behavior is unacceptable. Keep it up and you're disqualified from the competition! Pack up and go home you're done for the day *Helps Katie up*

Are you ok?

Katie: Yeah thanks. Sable definitely protected me. Good girl *Rubs her and puts her back in her stable then goes home*

*At Apartment 2J*

Logan: Hey Katie how was it at the horse stables with Sable today? Did you have fun?

*Shrugs* Katie: It was ok *Gets a water bottle out of the refrigerator*

Logan: Did something happen?

Katie: I found out from some older kids that there's gonna be a riding competition

Logan: That's great. Aren't you excited?

Katie: Sure *Drinks her water and sighs*

Logan: Katie are you sure you're ok?

Katie: Yeah *Goes to her room and sits on her bed and hugs Giggles. Zoey whines and jumps on the bed and looks at her* I'm ok sweet girl* Rubs her head*

*Later that night during dinner she's unusually quiet and doesn't really touch her food and just stares at her phone*

Kendall: Katie are you ok? Aren't you hungry?
