"It's no surprise to anyone that since All Might's retirement, crime has shot through the roof." A news reporter shuffled the papers in front of him. "It leads me to wonder if the next generation of heroes is ready for the new world."

"Speaking of the next generation, it appears U.A. has taken custody of Nightmare's daughter, Mirianne Shotomoto. What are your thoughts on this?" A woman to his left asked.

"Well, I think..." He settled the papers in front of him. "First, I'd like to hear your thoughts. I need a moment to gather myself."

"Oh?" The woman looked surprised. "I think it's a joke, if I'm honest. She's the daughter of a criminal. Wasn't her father that Pro Hero Gallant? It's surprising to see such an esteemed man such as himself having a child with someone like Nightmare. The fact U.A. even kept her is baffling. It really puts into question what they're teaching the students at that school. They've had so many villain attacks lately, it's hard telling what their next move from here will be. They should have just kicked the girl out and put her in Dolores Orphanage."

"Now, uh," The news man cleared his throat. "Isn't Dolores that orphanage known for taking in the children of villains?"

"Yes, it is. I don't have any doubt that the girl would fit right in there." She smiled and held a hand to him. "Are your thoughts ready?"

He cleared his throat once more. "Yes, I believe so." He faced the camera. "If you have any doubt in your mind about U.A. and their capabilities, then you are putting doubt in All Might's legacy. You are putting doubt in the Pro Heroes that swore to protect everyday individuals like you and I. Doubt like that? It's disrespectful. It's no better than the criminals you fear."

He shuffled the papers on his desk. "Why, I reckon that out of any school, any place in the entire world, U.A. would be a far more suitable place for someone like Mirianne. Additionally, if anyone has Nightmare's power, anyone who had any direct contact or influence with her came up to me and said 'hey, I want to be a Pro Hero', I'd let them do it in a heartbeat. That girl could have endless knowledge about the criminal underground for all we know. And she wants to help us? If I had to choose anyone to be the next All Might, anyone to be the next Symbol of Peace to provide new order and protection among the people? I'd choose Mirianne." He flashed a smile to the camera, as if nothing happened. "Thank you, and goodnight."

Kirishima clicked off the TV. "Why can't more people think like that guy? Miri is one of the good guys."

"It's sad to see that many people don't share the same sentiment as we do." Yaoyorozu sighed.

"If they just got to know Miri more, they'd see her the same way we do, ribbit." Tsu stood up, heading towards the kitchen.

"Well," Miri announced, causing everyone in the living room to jump. "The fact I can have someone like Mr. News Man on my side shows that it's not the worst situation." She hopped over the side of the couch and plopped down between Mina and Kirishima. "As long as I don't do anymore stupid things, I should be fine."

"Who are you and what have you done with Miri?" Kirishima stared at the girl sitting beside him.

Miri laughed and looked down at her knees. "I'm just in a good mood today, is all."

"Is it because of your date with Todoroki?" Mina poked Miri.

Miri hummed happily, pushing her shoulder against Mina. "Maybe..."

"Spill the details!" Mina grabbed her shoulders.

"Andddd I'm leaving." Kirishima pushed himself up from the couch.

"Good!" Uraraka replaced his spot. "I want to hear the details too!"

The girls of Class-1A sat around the living room, leaning in anxiously to hear any detail Miri would spill. The white-and-black-haired girl sunk lower in her seat.
