Present day...

"Isn't this beautiful? Now the lovers have reunited. You may stop." Seeker laughed merrily.

Beatrice pulled away from Ethan but not before she heard what he said.

"You still taste like sweets." His voice was so low that she was the only one who heard it.

She pushed the comment to the back of her head. This wasn't the time for nostalgic feelings.

Any other person might have been mortified by what they had been forced to do but not Beatrice.

She looked at her parents and Thomas without flinching. Her eyes showed them she wasn't ashamed.

She didn't look at Ethan though. She couldn't. Not after what happened and certainly not while she was still struggling to keep her expression blank.

She had been forced to remember the first time she had kissed him. Judging by what he'd said, he too was forced to remember what had happened.

She had been a different person back then—so carefree and witty. Time had changed her until she wasn't sure who she was supposed to be anymore.

If only she could have gone back in time, she would have warned her younger self about the dangers of what she was doing.

Unfortunately, she couldn't.

Leila was still patting her hair but Beatrice could see her mother's veins. She was furious.

Hector didn't even try to move. He was as still as a statue with a cold, expressionless face that gave nothing away. However, since Beatrice knew her parents well, she could tell he was thinking of a way to get out of the situation.

Thomas looked very angry which was to be expected. Like most men, he was territorial. He hated the idea of someone else touching what he believed was his. He knew that Beatrice hadn't had a say in the matter but it didn't ease his resentment at all.

Thomas could have killed Ethan for daring to kiss Beatrice. He had been forced to watch because he wanted to be sure the fool wouldn't take advantage of the situation.

How dare he kiss Beatrice like that?!

He no longer cared about making a good impression on the man for business purposes. He didn't need him!

"How long has this been going on? How long have you been cheating on me?! How long have you been going behind my back to meet with this....man!" Thomas demanded in a self-righteous tone.

Seeker laughed before Beatrice could answer him.

"All in good time, Thomas. If I were you I wouldn't be so vindictive. You will get your turn soon. We shall examine you under a microscope. How many skeletons do you have?" Seeker asked.

Thomas turned red. He kept fidgeting like he wanted to punch something. Thomas was known for having a nasty temper.

"Now, there are many things that have to be cleared up at once. Beatrice has had her turn. It's your turn, Ethan." Seeker said.

"There's nothing to clear up. It happened many years ago. I didn't even know who she was at first. Not for seven whole years." Ethan snapped.

Seeker laughed.

"Of course. We shall get to that. When did you first meet Beatrice?" Seeker asked.

Ethan kept his mouth shut until Beatrice screamed when she got electrocuted.

"What is wrong with you?! Why do you keep attacking her?!" Ethan shouted angrily.

Thomas was still peeved that Beatrice had kissed another and perhaps a little intimidated by the Seeker's threat so he said nothing.
