Ginny POV

As we journeyed to the Great Hall, I could feel everyone's eyes on us. I turned to Harry.
"Harry, everyone's looking at us."
"It's because in a matter of a day you gave birth, fought for your son 10 minutes after and narrowly escaped with our lives all while cradling a baby who was not even an hour old. You're a badass, love." He boasted. I smiled at him and his compliments.
"I guess you're right" I commented as we sat down to eat. James was sleeping peacefully in the cradle attached to my chest, not the slightest bit unsettled by the change of scenery or the loud chatter around him.
"You know he's only sleeping peacefully now because he's exhausted from all the dramatics he gave on his entrance into this world." Hermione commented as she sat herself across from me.
She looked tired but considerably better that he had her children safely in her and Ron's arms again.
Breakfast went on without a hitch and there was almost a normalcy to everything around us despite the events of last night.
Ron was stuffing his face with too much food while Hermione rolled her eyes lovingly at him. She was also attempting to feed herself, administer a bottle to Hugo, and read a book at the same time. She eventually gave up on feeding herself (how Hermione of her) and instead focused on her son and book.
(Oh anything to not loose out on an opportunity to further her education)
Harry was too engrossed in watching James dream to notice that he had over poured his goblet of orange juice that was now spilling out on the table, while I laughed along beside him.
The only thing missing were the people still recovering from their injuries in the hospital wing.
I was finishing up my food when I turned to Harry reminding him that we'd promised to visit in the morning. He nodded standing up and holding out his arms for me to pass James to him. I obliged.
Our walk to the Hospital Wing was relatively silent, yet it was a comfortable silence.
I loved watching Harry with our son. The way he looked at James made my heart melt in some type of way that I couldn't describe.
I pushed open the giant double doors to reveal the hospital and was surprised at how much louder it got.
Everyone was up and walking around, for the most part, and laughing and talking with each other. I headed straight for Draco Malloy.
"How are you feeling to today Draco? Do you have any pain?" I asked as I approached his cot. He shook his head,
"No, Madam Pomfrey said I shouldn't feel anything and she was right. She was able to temporarily magically numb the area so that I'll regain feeling in it once she attaches the prosthetic. On the plus side, after a good nights rest, my ribs are all healed up so I'm able to hold Scorpius again!" He proclaimed enthusiastically. You could tell he desperately missed having his son in his arms as he peered down at him with a soft smile. Just then Madam Pomfrey walked over and informed him that it was time to fix his leg.
As she explained what he would feel and she would do. Astoria waltzed up to take Scorpius out of his arms and sit gracefully down on the chair next to the bed.
I wished him luck as the caretaker pulled the drapes shut for privacy. While she worked her magic I went around to all the other beds and visited everyone else who seemed to be doing relatively okay.
After almost an hour of sitting and talking with everyone in there the curtains to Malfoy's bed were pulled back to reveal a slightly sweaty and mildly exhausted Madam Pomfrey and an equally tired Draco who was beginning to stand. He planted his silvery prosthetic on the ground next to his other foot and pushed off the bed. He seemed wobbly at first but then slowly got the hang of walking around. He made his way over to me and Harry who questioned, "how does it feel?"
"It feels stronger than my other leg" he answered with a slight chuckle, "which is strange, for obvious reasons."
After that he continued to practice walking on it and quickly got better and better which I was happy about. I was glad he didn't have a walking impairment for the rest of his life. He would be able to run and jump and fly just like the rest of us. He would be able to crouch down and play with his kids.
For this I was grateful.
