A brown medium sized travelling bag, filled up with clothes and zipped up, was seen placed on the edge a neatly spread hotel bed. Evelyn was ready to go back.

On a chair right beside the bed, deep in thought, Evelyn sat, still contemplating on whether to succumb to Mr Anderson's request or to continue feigning a good Christian girl.

"Evelyn, you've done it several times with Lucky, one time with another Lucky Anderson won't pose any harm" "What if this is a test of  integrity" What if it's not a test? Would you just loose this opportunity just protecting false integrity?" "What if the church hears about it? "Have you forgotten you'll become a celebrity? You can just snub the news. People would believe it's one of those rumours they carry about celebrities." Evelyn thought to herself.

Phone beeps, it's Mr Anderson's call.

"Hello sir" Evelyn said as she withdrew her back from the chair it rested on.

"Good morning Evelyn, I hope you've gotten ready. My driver is on his way to drive you to the airport."

"I'll do it... what you said, I'll do it sir" Evelyn said stammering.

"Waw, that's great. Your journey has just changed from going to the airport to coming over to my place. I'll call my driver right away, you won't regret choosing this option" Mr Anderson said and hung up the call.

                                *******

"Kayode, please just listen to me, I can explain" Mama Jane pleaded.

"So all these while, I've been living with an adulteress. Janet, you disappoint me! I could never thought you'd stoop so low to using an object to have pleasure, God!" Pastor Kay exclaimed.

Kayode, please just forgive me this once. I don't know what came over me, I..."

"No no no!"Pastor Kay interrupted. "Do not tell me you don't know what you're doing. You're not drunk? Are you? Answer me! When did you get that object of immorality? I'm talking to you!" Pastor Kay growled.

"Two-two years ago" she answered stammering.

"Whoa! It's been a long time since I stopped being a husband to you, but it's a pity I never realised"

"You're not always around. You're always busy with church's work. You no longer care about my feelings and emotions as your wife. All we talk about is how to provide for the family and nothing more. Whenever I ask for sex, you turn me down, I felt I'm no more attractive to you so I stepped up my game to buying flashy and expensive stuffs, but you still didn't see me. I couldn't stop using them anyways, so I continued. Kayode, you changed me! I'm not who I used to be, you're not the Kayode I married. Most times I feel lonely and needed someone to talk to but you're not there so...

"So you bought an object of pleasure! Shame on you! You disgust me Jane..."

"Kayode stop!" she screamed as she interrupted Pastor Kay. " I'm human, I'm imperfect, I'm a lady. I have emotions too. Why can't you just see from my perspective too. Do you remember we once had a discussion concerning this matter, you told me you couldn't neglect the work of God just to please me. We had a time table for sex which you stopped honouring after the second time. What am I expected to do, you tell me. The fact that you have the grace to live a sin free life doesn't give you the right to judge others. Looking at these all issue, the fault comes from you Kayode. Kayode, I'm sorry" she said as she calms down. "After all I've admitted my mistakes" she said soberly.

"Are you done" Pastor Kay asked nonchalantly. "Seem you've justified yourself already. Well, I want to sound a note of warning to you Jane, henceforth, stop cooking for me in this house"

"Kayode!"

"Hey woman, would you listen, because if you do, I would not eat it. I can't afford to eat the food prepared with those filthy and unholy hands of yours. Secondly, this room belongs to you now so you can have your way with that object of immortality you bought, uninterrupted. I think I've made my point" Pastor Kay said as he walked out on her.

"How could you be so cold Kayode"Mama Jane cried.

                                 *********

"Look at you, looking so fresh, our own latest music star" Tina, Evelyn's roommate said sarcastically.
"Tina please don't start again this evening, I'm not ready for your game of sarcasm" Tina said uninterestedly, looking worried.

"Babes, what's wrong with you? Is something bothering your mind"

"You don't have to worry about me, I'll be fine." Evelyn assured.

It's been a week since Evelyn got back from her trip for the album record, since her arrival, she had been acting weird, staying moody and quiet which is unlike her. She hadn't gone to see her boyfriend, Lucky who has been disturbing her to come over.

"How far now, when will the song be released" Tina asked.

"Tina! You're back on this issue again? I told you it would be out soon! Stop pestering me please." She said as she stood up and entered the toilet.

"I just asked a simple question now, why are you taking it so personal ah" she said feeling concerned.
Tina stood up to dress up for a party, while she was dressing she noticed a movement on the floor from the door of the toilet. It's Evelyn crawling out of the toilet vomiting blood.

"What! What is this! Evelyn speak to me!" Tina ran up to her to help her up. "What is wrong with you! Somebody help!" Tina shouted.

"Take me to the hospital, don't call anyone yet please". Evelyn struggled to speak while she lied helpless on the floor with her head in Tina's hands.
